AU Shippin' Out August 16-20: Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days

The deadly duo is paroled for a retail release down under this week.

The original Kane & Lynch launched in 2007, with Eidos now following it up with a sequel--Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days--which is leading the charge for game releases in Australia this week.

The game takes place from the perspective of Lynch, the mentally unstable half of the duo and sees them blast their way through Shanghai in the name of money. The shtick this time around is the focus on making the game seem grittier, which is why the developers have used filters to make the game look like a security surveillance tape. On the multiplayer front, the popular Fragile Alliance mode makes a return, along with two new modes, Undercover Cop and Cops & Robbers.

The other big release for the week is Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies for the Nintendo DS. Originally released in Japan over a year ago, the game is a traditional turn-based role-playing game and puts emphasis on four-player co-op and avatar customisation.

Both Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days and Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels are out this Thursday. Also keep an eye out for Legend of Kay, Elemental: War of Magic, and Dark Star One: Broken Alliance when they arrive later this week.
