AU New Releases: Ultra Street Fighter IV Dragon Punches Onto The Xbox 360, PS3, and PC

Digital upgrade option exclusive to the Xbox 360 version of the game.

The latest iteration in Capcom's flagship fighting game series punches its way into Australian retailers this week. Ultra Street Fighter IV will be released for the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on August 8.

As the name indicates, the game is the latest version of 2009's Street Fighter IV, which was followed by Super Street Fighter IV, and Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition.

This version of the game introduces five new characters--Poison, Hugo, Elena, Rolento, and Decapre--six new stages, new modes, and balance changes. Those who own Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition will be able to upgrade to Ultra via Xbox Live for $15. However, owners of the PlayStation 3 version will not be able to access the digital upgrade option due to age rating restrictions from Sony.

In a statement sent to NZGamer.com, a Capcom representative stated that the situation resulted from a "conflicting age rating with the OFLC the digital upgrade is not available on PSN across Australia and New Zealand... More specifically, Ultra Street Fighter IV has an 'M' classification, whereas Super Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV Arcade have 'PG' classifications. Best practice with Sony means that an update may not have a different classification from the original title."

Ultra Street Fighter IV was released earlier this year for the North American territory to positive reception. The game was praised in GameSpot's review for its new and enriching game mechanics. For more details on games out this week, check out the full list below.

I wonder if the lag is going to be fixed in the PC version with this "Ultra" update.

Zorine, thank you for the wonderful and evocative headline.  You gave me a nice smile to start my day.

Unfortunately I no longer enjoy playing the Street Fighter games!

It's because this was the perfect game to play after school or in between classes when I was in HS and College and had lots of friends hanging out.

As I got older the storyline became more relevant, and then sandbox my prefered format, which Street Fighter doesn't do.

Sacred 3 First Edition (360, PS3, PC)"

WARNING! Sacred 3 is not Sacred at all, don't buy it! It's not an RPG! For some greedy reasons they slapped name Sacred 3 on some boring, repetitive slasher. It not an RPG and it's not Sacred. Don't get fooled!

It is an absolute con! I agree with your warning.

Deep Silver were just trying to get the fans of Sacred 1 and 2 to pre order this and then realise that it is not a Sacred game whatsoever after it is too late!

It is disgraceful that practices like this are seemingly common place now, where as 10 years ago, h.ell even 5 years ago this would have been flagged by the community and therefore warning all of what to expect from this. I've barely even heard anything from any websites, warning people as to what this game actually is.

On Saturday I had people telling me things regarding my Mother, I do not dare to repeat for fear of the dreaded yellow box of "Pending!" As it turned out however, most of those defending it, never even played it yet. >_<

I was left a wee bit stunned, that people were defending it at all? I have to admit though, the Mother jokes were pretty funny.

If anyone here is still not convinced that it is not a Sacred game, then please check out Total Biscuit's review of Sacred 3 on You Tube and see for yourselves.

True Story.

@Saidrex  Yea, I watched TB's review on it and it looks pretty bad. Even if it wasn't a Sacred game it's still got nothing going for it.

It should be noted that the disc version of USF4 will include all the DLC outfits for all characters.

Damn that headline, for a second I thought Ultra Street Fighter IV Dragon was yet another version of the thing xD

Is English your first or second language? I'll excuse your comment if it's your second language.

@Metallicwolf29 You definitely, 100%, DO NOT need a comma there. Gamespot are correct. The subject of a sentence and its referent main verb should NOT be separated by commas (unless there's an adjectival or appositive particle between the subject and the verb, of course).

Maybe it *looks* misleading because every word is capitalised.

You could argue that "dragon punches" could be hyphenated to emphasise the fact that both words for part of the same verb, but this isn't technically necessary, or even *that* correct, really.

@tom_cat_01 I think the problem was not a comma, it wasn't really needed, but the caps and the fact that dragon punch is not a verb xD

Can't hate them for this one, but it was a strange headline

@Mega_Skrull @tom_cat_01 You're right, "Dragon Punch" is a noun.

But "Dragon punches" *is* a verb, technically. Albeit derived from a neologism. "To dragon punch" would be the infinitive.

@tom_cat_01 @Mega_Skrull :\ I missed the to, but you know what I mean. Look what we've done... We should remember we're in a place where you can be Mackuch'd
