This week, Naughty Dog's survival horror game The Last of Us Remastered makes its way to the PlayStation 4 at Australian retailers. As the name suggests, this version of the game will feature upgraded visuals, running at 1080p and at 60fps.

Other graphical upgrades include improved anti-aliasing, higher resolution textures, and integration with the PS4 controller's light and touch pad. Fans that purchased the multiplayer DLC content for the PS3 version can download them again for free onto the PS4 version. However, there is no cross-platform functionality for multiplayer.

The Remastered version also includes the PS4-exclusive Photo Mode, which allows players to freeze the action in-game to take a snap. Eight different menu options are available for use to customise the shot, including the options to reposition the camera, change the focus, and choose from a variety of frames and filters. Players can then share the shot using the PlayStation 4 controller's Share button. Photo Mode cannot be triggered during cut scenes.

The Last of Us was first released exclusively for the PlayStation 3 in June last year to positive reception. Earlier this year Sony revealed that a large portion of PS4 owners had not yet played the game. The Last of Us Remastered will launch in Australia on July 30 exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
