AU New Releases: Ratchet & Clank Trilogy Launches For the PlayStation Vita

The lombax and robot make their entry into the PlayStation Vita this week.

The Ratchet & Clank Trilogy blasts its way onto the PlayStation Vita this week. The game is a collection which includes Ratchet & Clank, Ratchet & Clank 2: Locked & Loaded, and Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal.

The three games were originally released for the PlayStation 2 in 2002, 2003, and 2004 respectively. The first Ratchet & Clank game was very well received in GameSpot's review, praised for its well-balanced gameplay and story. Its sequel garnered a similar reception, and introduced RPG elements into the series. The third game, Ratchet & Clank: Up Your Arsenal, brought a multiplayer mode to the series that was positively received.

For those a little more sports-inclined, Wii Sports Club launches for the Wii U this week. The game is a HD remake of Wii Sports, and was initially launched exclusively on the Nintendo eShop in separated instalments late last year. Wii Sports Club includes tennis, bowling, baseball, golf, and boxing.

Will the glitches and bugs be fixed? Something tells me they won't be.

Nobody cares for preserving old games anymore, only getting as much money as possible.

Can confirm that if you got the PS3 HD collection, you get the vita version free through Crossbuy

So we've heard the Vita has done a lot better in Japan than Europe and NA.  What about Australia, similar to Europe and NA?

I would imagine it's similar because culturally Japan is a special case, supposedly mobile is bigger, and it's kinda that home turf effect for Sony, but I don't know for sure.

Wonder who is handling the port this time; because lets face it, whoever did the god of war collection did a poor job and should go no where near another collection.

Now persona 4 golden is a perfect example of how these should be done.

I would love to see project justice, skies of arcadia, rogue galaxy, shenmue, sonic adventure, dragon quest 7-8, twisted metal black, Resident evil code veronica-4, onimusha col, Kingdom hearts hd remix 1-2, street fighter 3rd strike, Socom 1-2-3,GTA col(GTA 3,vice city, san andreas)come to vita.

Would also love to see psone classics mega man x 4-6, mega man legends, rival schools, tenchu, and many others.

Glad to see Vita owners out there are getting a great deal on Ratchet & Clank Trilogy and it's a great action-adventure game.

The 2nd Ratchet & Clank game should be Ratchet & Clank: Locked & Loaded - as it was renamed for the PAL territories.

I hope these work on the PS TV.

I also hope it's a lot better than the PS3 re-master.

@supremacy102 Having played a fair way into Ratchet 1, the port is a good one. It still has some of the PS3 glitches and quirks, but it runs fairly well and there still aren't any major game-breaking glitches for the most part. It's impressive that they managed to squeeze in all three full Ratchet games onto the one chip, something the Sly Collection couldn't do (third game was a download).

@supremacy102  I hear it's the same company that did the Jak & Daxter trilogy Vita port - which was meant to be a good one.

@Mr_AJ It's largely the same as the PS3 versions, although some glitches (such as eye object clipping) have been fixed. It also runs fairly well at 30fps and all the games are on the one chip, which is more than I can say for the Sly Collection.

@Mr_AJ It's a port of the PS3 remaster so I doubt it'll be much better.

What was so bad about it ?

(I'm playing the Vita version of R&C right now and I'm having zero problems)

@Chatch09 Wouldn't mind seeing more PS2 games on the Vita since I haven't owned a Sony product since the PS1 days before having the Vita. Missed out on many good titles that I would like to experience like Odinsphere, Dark Cloud games, Rogue Galaxy, Suikoden games and Valkyrie Profile 2.

@shinjuki @EasyComeEasyGo Yes, someone said something positive about a game series and handheld on a gaming site instead of spewing negative vitriol in opposition to the article. What a quirky little ass hat they are.

That was sarcasm in case you failed to grasp that.

@R4gn4r0k @Mr_AJ  There was a lot of little problems with the PS3 re-master, although it may be the case if you hadn't played the PS2 originals, you mightn't notice them.

Although, for all I know, these could've been fixed for the Vita version.
