Czech development studio Lonely Cat Games has announced its latest project - a 3D action game called Atlantica. The game takes place in an alternate past, when the Incas and the citizens of Atlantis fight for control of the Earth. The technology of Atlantis is more advanced, but the Incan empire has a much larger population. During this conflict, aliens land on the tenth planet in the solar system and begin to negotiate with the Incan empire. They offer advanced alien technology in exchange for raw materials, which gives the Incas a great advantage over Atlantis. Atlantis' only hope is to destroy the aliens.

Players assume the role of a hero from Atlantis that travels to several different environments on a number of different planets. Some planets are so small they can be traversed in minutes. The game supports a number of multiplayer modes, including deathmatch, cooperative missions, team-based combat, and capture the flag.

For more information about Altlantica, visit the official Lonely Cat Games Web site. The game is tentatively scheduled for release in early 2002.
