Atari be-Witched in Europe

French company signs deal to distribute CD Projekt's RPG in Europe and Asia; no deal made yet for North America.

Fantasy role-playing game The Witcher finally has a home...in North America and Asia. Atari and CD Projekt have entered a publishing deal that will see Atari distribute the game in the aforementioned regions in spring 2007. In the game, players will become Geralt, a hero with supernatural abilities who battles nefarious characters. The Witcher does not yet have a publisher in North America. For more information on the game, read GameSpot's previous coverage.

I have read some of his work anfd i most say i am Blown away by the deep story telling. It is dark Gritty and not very shy about saying things and makes it GREAT.

Sapkowski is very popular writer here in Eastern Europe. He is being called Tolkien of East, because of his deep interest in history, great precision in storytelling and unlike Tolkien, he is not keeping away from gore and sexual content. Stories of Geralt from Rivia are literar masterpiece for fantasy lovers. Though iam not sure how game will transfer unique atmosphere from book, iam looking forward for The Witcher.

Atari be-witched in europe???? Isn't that a bit wrong???? You say "The Witcher finally has a home...in North America and Asia." then say "distribute the game in the aforementioned regions " .. yet you say that North America has no publisher??? so what is it? i think it's supposed to say that the witcher finally has a home... in europe and asia... otherwise it doesn't make any sense!! but anyway YAY FOR EUROPE!!

OK, the thing is. CD Projekt have signed publishing agreement with ATARI Europe for Europe and Asia only. No publisher for North America yet. For more info visit game's official site - www.thewitcher.com - or our GameSpot Union - http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/home.php?union_id=Witcher @Fallout_red - why do you think Atari is a mistake?

So does this mean that it doesn't have a publisher in North America? The typo has kind of thrown me off what's going on!

It says that the game HAS a home in North America and then in the last sentence it says that the game DOESN'T have a home in North America.

Great news! Though I do hope Atari give the game a proper DVD case, and not those annoying paper sleeves in a box.
