Ubisoft today announced the Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag limited edition for North America. The $130 bundle includes a copy of the game in a steelbook case, the full soundtrack, an 80-page art book, an embroidered flag, and an 18-inch Captain Edward Kenway statue.

The Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag limited edition will be released on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PC. A Ubisoft representative told GameSpot, "We haven't announced a LE for the Wii U."

Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag launches October 29 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U. The Xbox One and PS4 versions will be launch titles for those platforms, while the PC version will be released sometime after the current-generation iterations.

A few months after the Limited Edition is released, they'll be coming up with a Gold Limited Edition and finally a Platinum Limited Edition containing all the DLCs ^_^

collectors collectors....you know someday all your precious junk is going to be in the trash because you''ll wake up and realize you have too much junk and those ''collectibles'' don't make you any happier, all they do is collect dust.

Bet it won't be £80 like the Black Version of AC2 I bought way back when which came with pretty much the same content.

A limited edition stops being a limited edition when its available on 4 freaking consoles.

AC always has the coolest collectors edition. I got the ACII one, but it was like $80. $130 is a little steep for me. Looks cool though.

the flag is the coolest part of that, in my opinion... but im not spending $130 for any game...

So my biggest question is, do I get this for my 360 or wait to get it on the PS4? Is there going to be a big difference in graphics for this on next gen or are they just porting it to the new systems?

I wonder how many games this franchise has left in it? 10? 20? How people aren't tired of the series at this point is beyond me. I beat the first two and got my fill.... there's no reason to return to this world unless they give the games a complete overhaul.

goddamnit, I just want the soundtrack (and maybe the flag)

This is going to be hard to pass up, at least for me.

Yawn.

I could buy more than two games for that price. What the hell is with all these statues lately.

$130 is a lot of money for a gallon of milk.

Biggest question here is, Is this game going to be able to fit in between GTA 5 and Watchdogs ? I know once I get GTA 5 it will be Christmas before I slow down on the game, than I will be onto Watchdogs. So this game will most likely be put on the back burner along with BF4 and COD: Ghosts ( If it is actually different from the last 10 that is).

unless it comes with an actual pirate....i'm not interested.

130 BUCKS for the same old format of items? Flags, figures and soundtracks... I'm getting sick and tired of that stuff.

@xolivierx Somebody doesn't understand the majority of collectors lol
It's called an increase in "value"

In game things are the only reason for me to pre-order or buy a special edition. I have the connor statue, but I value in game costumes/mission etc more.

However, art books with alternate looks for characters are great. The ME3 one is nicely made, imo.

@kiramasaki except if there is a limited supply for each console ...then , you know....its limited edition...

@Shantmaster_K not really add them up separately it comes to that price, PVC figures are 25-50 bucks alone

But than The Division comes out next year so looks like I will be buying the platinum version of this game.

@Ashbfc And what would you do with an actual pirate?

@Ashbfc Have it personally delivered by Johnny Depp would be pretty cool. Would score you some brownie points with the missues too.

@Tychobrahi Than don't buy it, Tell yourself NO !! Be strong and just buy the standard edition.

@isshiah Art books are really good! And I love the AC soundtrack. And don't forget the flag! But yes, $130 is pretty expensive and I'll have to think thrice to buy it.

@rad8045 A platinum will come with a friend and a tablet to play co-op.

Tychobrahi
Tychobrahi

@rad8045 @Tychobrahi Yeah that's what I've been doing for a while now. I quit my obsession for collectors editions with the first AC and most other games since I don't see the value of spending twice as much or sometimes more for stuff that ends up becoming useless.

@Devils-DIVISION @liotinedario @Bordonaro @xolivierx

While collecting figurines can be profitable, that doesn't typically apply to anything marketed as a "collector's edition".  Those are usually mass produced in very high numbers for as little price as possible (from pretty cheap plastic).  If you want any chance of a return on investment, then you need to never open the package.  If you unbox something like this, and it starts collecting dust, you'll be lucky to get half of its original value back if you should choose to sell it.  Your Bishoujo figurines are different, since they are made for a much smaller market in much smaller numbers.  In 20 years, they will be much harder to find, and they will thus be much more valuable than one of these Assassin's Creed figurines, which will still be readily available in used condition for $20.  Only the factory sealed ones might reach those humongous selling prices, if anyone still cares to buy Assassin's Creed stuff in 20 years.

@liotinedario @Bordonaro @xolivierx

No he's not! I personally own a few Bishoujo, Hot Toys figurines and statues. Just on the Bishoujo's I can make 4-5 times the amount I initially payed, just by putting it on eBay--and people do buy 'em.

So if I want to get rid of 'em sometime (which I don't see happening) they'll be sold not chucked out in the "trash". Try to refrain from speaking about something you guys clearly know nothing about.

I have me3 and ac:b soundtracks. Music and art books, then. Haha.It will most likely cost $150 here.

@rad8045 @Tychobrahi The last collectors edition I bought was Arkham City cos it came with a boat load of stuff for the extra 20 bucks.

rad8045
rad8045

@Tychobrahi @rad8045 I brought the special edition of Tomb Raider for an extra $20 and all I got was a tiny art book and what seems to be a beer holder, so yeah totally agree with not bothering with there silly Pre-order editions.
