About time, those pre-order bonuses always taunt me so.

Played the game, short, most of it was collect crap quests to make it look like it's longer, didn't miss any of this offered dlc crap, the franchise heading down hill.

Assassin's Greed, I was thinking of buying the game but Im not now, cutting stuff out of the game to try and resell is a ripoff.

Retailer specific bonuses are stupid.  I don't like DLC period, but having to decide where to buy a game just because of the extra content is just absurd.

These should have been free anyways.  Disgusting.

Black Beard's Suit? YES!

A load of generic crap that really wouldn't be missed if you never bought it. I'm getting so bored of Ubisoft's money-spinning ways, but I guess it's our fault for endorsing it.

i still have a free copy of ac3 i had to put down. i couldnt get past the first 30 agonizing minutes of hand holding. hopefully 4 went away from that....somehow i doubt it.

Another potentially great series ruined with greed!

Give me your money so you can buy more pointless shit. -- Ubisoft

You mean the way it should have been anyway? No way.

Well, since retailer specific content is usually on every disc anyways, I would say that people who bought the game already own this and charging people to have access to something they already own is criminal and should be illegal.

Black Island, Mystery Island, Sacrifice Island..most generic names for a mission.

As much as I hate this distribution, it's hard not to get excited for an excuse to get back to AC4. Freaking wonderful game.

The Wii U doesn't seem to be missing out on anything of value here.

I'm tired of buying incomplete things, things that need weeks of patching, etc.  I've never bought a cheeseburger where the cheese was sold to me for extra money after the burger was brought to my table.  Or where it was brought to me 20 mins after the burger because they didn't test to see if it had cheese on it in the first place.  Just settle it back in the kitchen, take the time you need.  Want to charge for french fries?  Fine.  But if the person with me gets fries for free because they're sitting on one side of the table and I get cole slaw for sitting on the other side, and we each now have to pay for the thing we didn't get, that's a bit insane.  That's what this DLC is.  Just utter, arbitrary nonsense from a consumer standpoint.  Retailers should collectively take a stand against this instead of trying to get some sort of dumb edge which no one is paying attention to anyway.

No other industry could operate this poorly and expect customers to keep purchasing.  You don't sell people jackets and then give them a few extra buttons for additional money, or sell all these jackets with holes in them and then offer sewing services afterwards.

Doesn't the PC version have these anyway? I guess this only applies to the peasant boxes.

Meh, I'll buy the complete version of the game in May for the PS4.

Ubisoft, just give me a DLC that turns my ships crew all into beer wenches and prostitutes, and have them all running around scandalously dressed.

And if you wait even longer, you can get all DLC and the main game in a much cheaper goty version.

We get to buy the stuff that was yanked out of the finished game to be used as retailer-specific preorder DLC. How generous of Ubisoft.

@sol_invictus55THIS we agree on.  But this is Ubisoft.  Why should anyone expect less.

Wait for the GOTY and snag it for $9.99 when the time is right.

@DigitalDameNo it is already included in the season pass if you bought it previously otherwise it it $7 stand alone based on the article

@Butt_Chunx  It would seem that way but no, you don't own the content on the disc. Quote :

@Hurvl I got the main game free, so I didn't mind sinking 20 on the season pass.

@RossRichard Happy I decided to just buy the standalone Freedom Cry DLC for $10; that was worth it. But the rest of the stuff in the season pass has been pretty worthless.

@ztype85Ubisoft can say whatever the fuck they want to serve their own interest but that doesn't make it true. When I buy one of those plastic discs then I own it, every atom it is made of, every bit of data on it, I completely own it. That goes for any product. If I buy a car then I own it as a whole but I also own every bolt and part that the car is made up of. I understand that by buying a game, I do not own the IP but I still own the product and if the retailer specific bonuses are on the disc then they are part of the product which I own. I can buy a Rolex and I would completely own it but that does not give me the rights to the design or the right to duplicate it and the same principals goes for movies, music, games, artwork, books and other copyrightable media. So you and Ubisoft are wrong and can go suck it.
