Adventure and role-playing take centre stage in this week's releases all over Asia.

First on this week's list of releases is Rockstar Games and Team Bondi's foray into the '40s called L.A. Noire. The game puts players in the shoes of Cole Phelps, a troubled cop trying to make it as a detective in postwar Los Angeles. The adventure will be available in stores this Friday; check out GameSpot's review of the game here.

Next is the PC version of Fable III. Players take on the role of the young sibling of a tyrant king, charged with the task of overthrowing him and ruling the land. Gamers are given the option to be either a goody two-shoes or a villainous despot while exploring the open-ended land of Albion. The PC version will feature new difficulty levels and stereoscopic 3D support and is out now.

Gamers still in tune with Fallout: New Vegas will be pleased to know that the Honest Hearts DLC is out today. The DLC takes place in Utah's Zion National Park with players leading an expedition that is ruined by belligerent tribal groups. While the Xbox 360 and PC versions are out now, the PS3 version's release has yet to be determined due to the PlayStation Network being currently offline in Asia.

Even with the many high-profile releases this week, the indie game scene should not go unnoticed, as Terraria is out now for the PC. The game is a 2D action game where players mine for materials on randomly generated land to make tools out of and combat an onslaught of beasts. The 2D equivalent of Minecraft also has multiplayer mode and free content updates. Players can get the game on the digital download store Steam.

Finally, RPG gamers will get their hands on the sequel to The Witcher. Subtitled Assassins of Kings, this PC game puts players in the shoes of monster hunter Geralt as he tracks down the Temerian king's attempted killers who are also linked to the murders of other witchers. The game also has revamped combat mechanics and more than 40 hours of gameplay with 16 different endings.
