Prepping up the start of Chinese New Year are games consisting of simian-capturing, dungeon-keeping, and black-ops-laden multiplayer shooting.

Leading the charge in this week’s Asian releases is Ape Escape: On the Move on the PlayStation 3. The game pits you as a newly elected catcher of the Saru aliens from outer space led by head simian Specter. With the PS3 Move motion controller, gamers will catch oncoming apes using a high-tech catching net, pelt them and other flying oddities with a slingshot, and whack obstacles using a metal Japanese "harisen: called the smasher. The game is out today.

Dungeons, a simulation game from developers Kalypso, is a throwback to the 1997 classic game Dungeon Keeper where players build their own dungeon of doom that keeps away goody-two-shoe heroes from plundering your treasure trove and killing off the dungeon heart. Gamers have to not only manage the dungeon space while pretending to be an underworld interior decorator, but also lure foolish heroes into said dungeon so that gamers can kill and take their soul energy to bypass the level. Dungeons will be out this Friday.

An extreme racing title called Nail’d will be out on Friday. The over-the-top racer will feature the option to choose between using an ATV or a motorcross bike, as well as expansive tracks with big jumps and arcade-style gameplay.

The best-of version Zettai Zetsumei Toshi 3 will be out for the PSP this Thursday. If it is anything like the past two games (localized as Disaster Report and Raw Danger for the PlayStation 2), ZZT 3 pits gamers as a sole survivor trying to make it out of a city torn asunder by a huge earthquake. The game features a stress-management system where gamers have to tone it down by taking medicine and resting while keeping watch on it since it rises whenever gamers experience in-game traumatic events.

Last but not least is a map pack for Call of Duty: Black Ops. The downloadable content is dubbed First Strike, which features five new environments for multiplayer and a new area for the zombie game mode called Ascension. The map pack is currently being released exclusively for the Xbox 360 via XBLA; a PS3 and PC release date has yet to be confirmed.
