This reminds me of art contests in video game magazines. The differences may be incentive prize and the name of artist under featured arts.

I'm enjoying this focus on new features here at Gamespot. I was a little disappointed after On the Spot and Start Select stopped being made, but you guys stepped it up and put great new content.  The site is great.

@queuing_for_PS4 Up until now the Tomb Raider and Uncharted series were apples and oranges.  The Tomb Raider line was far more puzzle based with much weaker combat and less emphasis on story and character development, but not intentionally.  This was originally because of tech limitations at the time and when it grew into a series bad habits stuck around, hence the reboot.

Naughty Dog drew inspiration from a number of sources, yes, one of them being Tomb Raider but on a superficial level, but they wanted it to be much more than that.  Their bigger sources of inspiration were serials and movies - titles like Indiana Jones and National Treasure.  Uncharted also has a bigger focus on action, combat and character development.  As anyone who plays Uncharted and likes it will tell you, you don't really play to mow down thugs and mercs.  You play because you love being a part of this big interactive action blockbuster - seeing how the characters interact, finding out how the story unfolds, and waiting to see what the next big action sequence will be.  Many fans will tell you after playing through just one of the Uncharted games they felt like they knew the characters.  You couldn't really say that about Lara Croft.  I mean you knew she was a sexy badass and some of her family history but you don't feel it on a more personal level.

So now the tables are turned.  Love it or hate it, Uncharted has been wildly successful and devs have noticed.  Now it's Tomb Raiders turn to draw inspiration from the Uncharted series and it seems like Crystal Dynamics took some pretty good notes because Lara Croft's new story seems to be pretty damn good.  Neither game in their current state would be what they are without the other one so in the end... who gives a fuck?!  Play the games that you like, support them and enjoy them.  Loving the Indiana Jones movies didn't stop me from watching and thinking that the National Treasure line was decent (not fantastic), so why would I limit myself to one game series if I could have two that I really love?

@queuing_for_PS4 Nathan Drake wasn't even a thought when the original TR games came out, you obviously never played them if you think uncharted is original.

@jark888 The plan is eventually to start having contest that allow us to also do an Artist Arcade with the submissions. We just need to get enough community support for it the way it is first ;)

@C4N4D14N_DR34M @queuing_for_PS4    hahaha! this is a sick joke ryt? even if lara is a girl, TR feels better and at-least an original idea compared to the lara wanna be Uncharted. Uncharted is just more epic because all they had to do was, think of a story and make a graphics engine, the rest is just about tomb raider (i bet they even got the sinking ship idea from TR underworld, lol)

@queuing_for_PS4 @Saketume Why dont you bugger off and que for your f*****g shitty ps4 and leave people alone, uncharted is just another run of the mill shooter, like all games these days, it wont be long before tiger woods get a gun and starts gunning down the pga tour, im sick to death of boring same old run around shooting games, at least the original tomb raider had puzzles to work out, infact the only games in the past ten years that can stand out from the rest are limbo, and portal, you had to use your brain for those games, which you clearly dont have! Infact, why are you on a thread for tomb raider if its that bad. CLOWN!  RANT OVER!

@queuing_for_PS4 @bouff At that time, Tomb Raider series (not include TR Legend, Anniversary and Underworld) was the most exiting adventure game. At that time, Uncharted series not even come out yet. Uncharted some how get some influence of old series of Tomb Raider. And now there is nothing wrong if the reboot gets a little bit of Uncharted series ideas. But this reboot has made a name for itself that Uncharted didn't have: an open world, a diversity at upgrade skill and weapon, secret tombs and puzzles. Uncharted is more action and less puzzles than this new TR reboot. So you can say that Uncharted is the best of PS3 and maybe PS4 but myself think that TR is the best for xbox 360 (and ofcourse the next-gen of Xbox), PC and for everyone not just only for Uncharted fan boy (not most of them are bad but some of them like you are need to stay away).

It's an interview with one of the creators of Sonic you dimwit.

If you actually read it you'd see that it didn't exactly compliment Mario.

He made Sonic out of the frustration that Mario was too slow.

But hey We should all trust the nr. 1 troll on gamespot above the guy who actually knows where he got the inspiration from.

You should write him and say he's a liar.

Man I miss the good old days when trolls had some intelligence.

@queuing_for_PS4 Uncharted does not have a monopoly on running, jumping and shooting gameplay. In fact, much of what it tries to do it does terribly, but you can only lead a PS3 fanboy to water...

@queuing_for_PS4

I can't tell if this is denial or outright stupidity. Uncharted was heavily inspired by Tomb Raider and to think otherwise is ignorant. Even members of Naughty Dogs development team marked Tomb Raider as being their biggest influence. Your username even suggests your an Uncharted fanboy and while there's nothing wrong with that, there is something wrong with stupidity.

@queuing_for_PS4 what is wrong with Tomb Raider being like Uncharted? If you like Uncharted so much you'll like this Tomb Raider..... I'm definitely buying Tomb Raider just for that reason alone
