Army of Two sequel signs comic artists

2000 AD's Mark "Jock" Simpson and Captain America's Chris Bachalo to create cutscene illustrations for EA Montreal's forthcoming co-op-heavy shooter.

Although Mark "Jock" Simpson is an established comic artist known for his work on The Losers and the British sci-fi comic 2000 AD, he's also working as a film production artist on the forthcoming remakes of Judge Dredd and Dune, according to Electronic Arts. Now, Jock is trying his hand in video games, teaming up with renowned fellow artist Chris Bachalo to illustrate dramatic in-game sequences for the shooter sequel Army of Two: The 40th Day.

The illustration is some strange mix between an armored soldier and Jason from 'Friday the 13th.'

Amid the first day of Comic-Con 2009, the game's publisher, EA, announced today the two artists will illustrate the outcomes of moral choices players must make throughout the game. When a player makes a major decision, the game will cut to a sequence of still images that show the short- and long-term consequences.

Bachalo is known for his work on such comic series as Marvel's Captain America, Uncanny X-Men, and Spider-Man: Brand New Day. He will sign original artwork from the upcoming title at EA's Comic-Con booth from July 24-25 (2:00-4:00 p.m. PDT).

Army of Two: The 40th Day follows up on the adventures of the mercenary duo, Salem and Rios, as they fight for survival in the besieged city of Shanghai. The game is due out this winter for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PSP. For more information on the involvement of the artists in Army of Two: The 40th Day, watch the video below.

I can't be too sure but I'm betting this game is gonna be good from what I've seen so far... I'll totally buy it if it gets a score of 7.0 or higher even though I usually get games with th score of 8.0 or higher... but I wouldn't want a series in my collection to go uncompleted right :P it seems all I'm buying of 2009 is sequels

I don't think a morality choice would work very well here, as mercenaries, the highest earning choice is best, and they are on a leash from their own company, right? Besides, what about the random encounters you may find online when a friend isn't on to play with, their choice may be different from yours. I think it would be better to implement a choice system that doesn't focus on moraltiy per se, but just what you want to do, and how it affects you afterwards or later within gameplay and the story. That would be good.

You get an "A" choice and a "B" choice........but no choice"C"? seriously though, your playing as Mercinaries, the choice that offers the highest profit would be the obvious choice, taking on a morality system that doesnt do much besides makes you feel bad for an NPC for like 10 seconds after you killed them seems kind of pointless and lame. Im hoping the game at least is good enough to overlook minor things like this, hopefully.
