LucasArts has officially announced Armed and Dangerous, a new Xbox and PC action game in development at Planet Moon Studios--the same development house behind Giants: Citizen Kabuto. Players will take on the role of Roman, who happens to be the leader of a Robin Hood-like gang known as the Lionhearts. The other members of the gang have certain specialties, like Jonsey, the demolitions expert, or Q1-11, a droid that serves as the strongman of the group. Lastly, there's Rexus, an old man who possesses magic powers. Roman and his gang are looking for the Book of Rule, one of the most sought after items in the world known as Milola, but naturally, they have to battle the evil king of the land as well as his army of diverse enemies in their quest.

"Armed and Dangerous blends an explosive storyline and over-the-top, bullet-splaying action with a twist of humor," says Liz Allen, director of marketing for LucasArts. "The game is a distinctive, modern take on the kind of original titles that have played such a significant role in shaping the unique legacy of LucasArts."

The game will feature 21 missions spread across five environments ranging from icy areas and forests to mountains and cliffs. Armed and Dangerous is scheduled for release later this year.
