Fishtank Interactive has announced the release of AquaNox, its sci-fi underwater action game. The game is one of the first to be optimized for Nvidia's GeForce3 graphics processor, and it lets players assume control of an advanced submarine in a fight against dangerous underwater monsters.

AquaNox is set in the distant future after a global nuclear war has forced humankind to seek refuge beneath the seas. When a huge underwater landslide opens a series of caverns, ancient gods that have been imprisoned for aeons are freed. Players assume the role of "Dead Eye" Flint, a submarine pilot who must battle both human and monster enemies through 34 missions in a quest to save human civilization.

AquaNox was created by Massive Development, and it will soon be available in stores for an approximate retail price of $39.99. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
