You can tell Apple is serious about gaming; they've now got Lara Croft on their side. The company says it is offering a free copy of Tomb Raider II or Tomb Raider Gold with every purchase between now and April 30 of Mac OS 8.5, the most recent release of the Macintosh operating system.

"We've shipped almost three million copies of Mac OS 8.5 and we'd like to give every Mac owner the incentive to upgrade to it," said Phil Schiller, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing.

Mac OS 8.5 costs an estimated retail price of US$99. A coupon will be offered with the operating system that will be good for the free Tomb Raider game.
