In a move sure to give Charlton Heston night terrors, Sony today has delivered new PlayStation 2 and PSP installments of its Ape Escape series to stores. Ape Escape 3 for the PlayStation 2 sets 400 more of the mischievous monkeys loose on the world, and players will have to reintroduce them to captivity in order to thwart the nefarious plans of Specter. The game also includes an unlockable game mode based on Metal Gear Solid, and a Simian Cinema feature that will let players direct their captured monkeys in 15-second mini-movies. Over on the PSP, Ape Escape Academy introduces the series to the party game genre, collecting 40 new minigames based on karate, hockey, dodgeball, and more. Both games are rated E10+ for Everyone 10 and Older and retail for $39.99. Check back later today for GameSpot's full reviews of each game.
