Sony will discontinue online support for 2009 PSP game Resistance Retribution in May, the company announced on Twitter. All online services for the game, including its eight-player multiplayer mode, will no longer work as of May 15, 2015. "Thanks for playing!" Sony wrote.

Retribution won't be the first Resistance game to lose its online support. Last year, Sony discontinued online play for three PlayStation 3 Resistance games: Fall of Man, Resistance 2, and Resistance 3.

After May, the only Resistance game to still offer online play will be 2012 PlayStation Vita game Resistance: Burning Skies, which is the most recent entry in the series.

No new Resistances games have been announced. Series creator Insomniac Games recently said it seriously considered making a fourth Resistance game, but was wary of franchise fatigue. The developer instead made Xbox One game Sunset Overdrive.
