Another high-profile developer has spoken out to praise the technical ability of Sony's PlayStation 4, which recently crossed 5.3 million units sold worldwide to date. This time, the glowing words come from Grasshopper Manufacture CEO Goichi Suda AKA Suda 51.

In the latest issue of Famitsu (translated by Silicerona), Suda 51--whose past work includes Lollipop Chainsaw and Shadows of the Damned--said he is most blown away by the "speed" of Sony's new system.

"The most impressive one to me so far has got to be 'speed'," he said. "As a video game console, that's the part the stood out to me the most for the PlayStation 4. We make games, so we want to make them fun, and we also put a lot of effort into making them as appealing as possible. In order to do that, we need hardware that can show 'speed'."

"When it comes to making games, having this 'speed' available as an ingredient really puts us at ease," Suda added. "Even as we currently develop, we can really feel the response of having it available."

Suda and Grasshopper Manufacture are currently working on PS4 game Lily Bergamo, described as a "super action game." It's not entirely clear what Suda is referring to by "speed" when it comes to the PS4. But it's possible he's referencing the system's PC-like architecture or its RAM allotment.

Suda is the latest big-name developer to speak fondly of Sony's new hardware, following Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima. He said earlier this month that the PS4 is so powerful that it can render 1080p at 60fps with "room to spare."
