Another Dead Island Announced, but This One's Exclusive to Last Gen

Slated for later this year, Escape for Dead Island joins Dead Island 2 and Epidemic, but this one's solely for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC.

The trailer may not provide many explanations, but like the previous games in the series, you can assume that the game is sett on an island teeming with the dead (undead?). But in a surprising twist, this more stylized take will only come to last-gen systems: Xbox 360, PS3, and PC.

Due out later this year and coming in at the budget price of $39.99, Escape is completely separate from Deep Silver's other Dead Island projects. Just to make sure you've got things straight, Dead Island 2 is the more mainstream sequel slated for Xbox One, PS4, and PC (which we checked out at E3 earlier this year). And Deep Silver's also working on the MOBA Dead Island: Epidemic

For even more details on the game, and a few hints as to what the cryptic trailer has in store, read our hands-on preview of the game wherein we experiment with the game's stealth elements.

That's a lot of Dead.

I'm looking forward to Dead Island 2. Don't know if I have time or willingness to play another title. There's only so much Deep Silver / Dead Island glitchiness I can take.

"but This One's Exclusive to Last Gen"

Why is it necesarry to point this out in the title? Last gen is still great and you can make awesome games on it even if the graphics aren't the best there is. I laugh at people who sold their old console to buy the new one cuz it's suppose to be a replacement, It's not!

Just saw the trailer, looks better than the original Dead Island games. Fingers crossed until more footage shows up.

PC gamers get both last-gen exclusives and next-gen exclusives. Another advantage we only get with the glorious PC! :D

Just let that old ass generation die already. Jesus Christ.

As if the current gen consoles aren't underpowered already.

@Gamer3344 I wouldn't think of it as a negative. If anything, it's better that games are still coming to last-gen as exclusives, and not just ported across absolutely everything.

Whenever anyone asks me, my recommendation is still to hold off on buying a PS4 or Xbox One until the games come out that you can't really miss.

@Gamer3344 I, for one, am very disappointed that it's not coming to X1/PS4…. I love the Dead Island series…

but sure, I still have my 2x360s and my PS3, so no biggie here...

@Gamer3344 I don't see why the need complain if he points that out? He does point out a fact and its exclusive to last gen nothing wrong informing everyone I think

@justinhaywald @Gamer3344 yeah that's 1 of the reason I still don't own a ps4 or xb1 coz 1.) no games i like are out. 2.) friends don't have them still. 3.) once the above 2 reasons are taken care of, the price may drop, so more reasons to wait for everything good to come
