Web site Amazon.co.uk will be open to preorders for the Wii from November 21 at 9 a.m. GMT. The retailer has stated it will only be offering preorders for the same number of consoles it has been allocated for launch day--meaning if you manage to snag a preorder, you should be guaranteed a Wii. Only one console is allowed per customer so that "as many of our customers as possible can enjoy a Wii console this Christmas." For a surcharge on orders to the UK, the console will arrive on the launch date. Games and accessories will be sent separately from the console, and "most launch titles" should also be delivered by December 8. The company echoes Nintendo's advice to customers by suggesting people "order early, because the Wii console will be in very short supply."
I had one to my mother was refreshing for like 35 mins, in the end she rang and somehow when she was on the phone, it worked xD. Yay I got a wii for xmas :D
mine says the 14th-15th too, dispatched on 11th so i emailed them and was told a load of useless crap so i decided to phone them and they didnt know why it says that, the only thing he could think of is that they could be getting a second batch a few days later, but its still possible it could come on the 8th. so im just hoping the date displayed is a glitch in the system lol i also asked how many they got in stock, but the person i was speaking to didnt know the answer :(
Bro orederd mine while i was at school. :) he was refreshing 4 half an hour and then managted 2 get me one. im giving him a tenner 4 it :P
Well my order says first class post and delivery estimate 8-9th december. I'm paying a whole £1.99 Postage and packaging so here's hoping i get it on launch.
I would guess they only had a couple of 100 units on there. Be interesting to know for sure though... It seems odd that my local game will get 100 and amazon don't get like 5000 or something...
The Wii preorders were up for about 10 minutes how many were available? I don't think there were many, 10 minutes how many orders can you take a minute? Well I hope everyone that wants one can get it , I managed to get one after 45 minutes of page refreshing on Amazon.
I am going with Amazon, I wouldn't be able to make it there for opening time, so no fan buzz and I will end up spending more money on peripherals if I go into the store!
awesomeness :D finally, after being thrown out by play, then hmv, then game i've managed to get one in time, too near the release date from amazon :D i'm finally releaved :P
To anyone who got the 14-15th delivery date:
The 14th delivery message is a glitch, we're working to fix that. If you have been lucky enough to get one, you will get it for launch. If you've not been fortunate we will have more Wii consoles for sale at 0.00am on the 8th December.
Eat out or order take-away? You can have your Wii delivered to your door come rain or shine, or you can enjoy the buzz of queing up with all the other fans. I'd go for having it delivered, personally! You do run the risk of it being late though.
Gah! Now my local game call me and tell me I can put down a deposit today or tomorrow for a Wii on launch as they have got more stock! Do I keep Amazon, or go with my local game...
Hmmm..... i just called them and they still told me its the 11th? (1st class delivery) anyone esle got the 11th on thier order?
ah, awesome so hopefully it is just an error in the automated system (this is the friend of TriffStar that he managed to order the wii for btw :D)
Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, got one. I just wanna thank god for what he has bestowed upon me this november morn... Awwwwwwww Yeah.
Okay, through... Woah, orders were up for 8 minutes she said... Seemed confused by that... On hold again... and I quote "The Nintendo one went live this morning, I will see how soon I can get them to you"... On hold again... Ha! She said, "Thats okay Mr. Bray because its a new item the information will be off... I will put it to the front of the queue and you should recive it on thursday this week." I think not... however she said the into will be more accurate in about 2 hours.
Bah! I should have phoned before posting the number... Funky rap on hold though... I will let you all know what I find out about this though.
I can see us all now standing on the corner of our streets snowing coming damn yelling for the damn postie to hurry up
Oh and incase anyone has trouble finding the Amazon UK Support number (they do like to hide it). Its: 0800 279 6620
nope ive got dispatching on the 7th delivery on the 8th so im going to stick with the top one and hope to get it on time
Also, its listing as "Dispatching December 11th" so even if I had the top P+P thats still the 12th... Hopefully its jsut a bug...
Express delivery is like £8.99. I have got things on launch from Amazon before using first class delivery...
its annoying they add vat to the deliverey what should be £9 is closer to £12 its a con for us release day junkies
If you have made the order, you can change it to Express Delivery! The FAQ did say First Class so I think we should all complain.
I chose first class and I am getting dispatched on the 11th. That better not be right, I was under the impression that all their consoles on pre order today would be launch day... At least thats the impression I got from the FAQ...
Well the FAQ said choose First Class. I just changed it to special delivery and it now says the correct date...
Sold out in under 10 minutes, and i'm not sure, try the most expensive one see what it says - you can always change it back to the middle one
I chose the next delivery down, its like £1.70. The middle one, not the most expensive one. It said 1-2 business days, but this is one week. Also, they sold out already?
i went for the 8.99 delivery to get it on the day, going to hmv for all my extras though cause i will get 20% discount with student stuff :)
