Allied Assault overtakes Diablo II

EA's World War II shooter climbs to second place behind Counter-Strike in iGames' latest list of most popular multiplayer games.

Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Electronic Arts' World War II first-person shooter, surpassed Blizzard's Diablo II to take second place on iGames' list of most popular multiplayer games for the month of May 2002. Half-Life: Counter-Strike, Sierra's team-based action game, remained in the top spot, while Diablo II slipped to third place. Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, LucasArts' popular Star Wars action game, dropped to fourth place from third place in April. EverQuest, Sony's online role-playing game, climbed up to fifth place from seventh the month before.
