Alien Crush coming to Virtual Console

Hudson teases that a previously unannounced TurboGrafx-16 game will debut on Wii's game download service Monday, sets up a Web page for 1989 pinball game.

A staff member on Hudson Entertainment's official forums has posted a bit of a teaser regarding the company's next release for the Wii's Virtual Console.

"This upcoming Monday Dec 11th, there will be a new TurboGrafx game coming to your Virtual Console on the Nintendo Wii! It's a new one, which has not been announced yet."

The staff member then gives a hint about the title's identity, saying, "All brain, no skull. All eyes, no nose." Gamers who remember the TurboGrafx-16 pinball game Alien Crush may remember the game's alien-queen centerpiece as being a noseless, eyeball-laden monstrosity. They might also recall a giant brain used as a bumper of sorts on the game's upper playfield.

Further supporting the idea that Alien Crush is the game being referenced is the fact that Hudson has already set up a page confirming that its headed for the Virtual Console on its official site. The company has also created a page for Dungeon Explorer, a previously announced but still unreleased Virtual Console title.

It'd have been nice if GS wouldn't have removed the game entires for rereleases of games like this on the different services like VC, PSN, XBL.

Turbo games are the main reason I want to buy a Wii. I just hope they expand into their CD catalog soon. With today's technology they could compress them down easily for the Wii. Some Valis Action would be killer as well as Y's Book 1&2, as well as Castlevania: Rondo of Blood.

They need to get the entirety of the Castlevania series methinks :| I may have only played the 4th version, but if that's anything to go by, I'm going to LOVE the rest of them :D

princeofgames90 Why the hell should i get intrested in Old school .... You cant call yourself prince of games anymore. Without old school there wouldn't be any videogames at all.

My future picks: Military Madness! - A MUST HAVE Legendary Axe Blazing Lazers (Yes, LaZers, not my spelling) Bonks Revenge (Much improved in length and depth from 1st) Devil's Crush - somehow even better than Alien Crush Galaga '90 - Best Galaga ever Moto Roader - 5 player blast Neutopia - Preferably part 1, both were excellent Zelda clones Ninja Spirit - Hello, ninjas... R-Type - Great version Space Harrier - Again, very good version Splatter House - Jason lives, fun scary beat em up ....and the Grandaddy of all modern great RPGs, Hudson, please find a way to get us .... (drumroll)... Ys Book I & II !!!!!! Probably the most anticipated game in my lifetime, and I never got over it after beating it a dozen times. Beautiful story, beautiful graphics, and not in any way a long drawn out chore. Great voicework, too... oh, and the music was decent :) (Sarcasm there, it happens to have the best soundtrack in video game history) I love my Wii-16 :)

Played this game on the TG-16, it is the second best video pinball game for any console. The top nod goes to it's sequel, Devil's Crush. Hopefully, Hudson remembers that game and brings it to the VC.

Shtinky don't care. I'm sorry but going into articles just to post "lol dont care!!1" is still one of the most moronic thing I've seen GameSpot users do. On topic: If I had my Wii, I'd download this. I love pinball.

Alien Crush is cool. But Devil's Crush rules. Still can't take that one out of my TurboExpress system! I can understand why they are releasing Alien 1st because if Devil's was released before it no one would buy it! Devil's Crush is so much more awesome...but really, you've gotta have them both if you're a Turbo fan!

With Alien Crush announced, the VC gets better and better. Dungeon Explorer, while a caveman by today's action/ rpg standards, was a lot of fun for its day, especially with four players. It was games like these that made me think all my friends still playing a NES were chumps. Too bad the TG-16 never caught on, it really could have been something special... Anyone remember the other goodies?: Blazing Lazers, Devil's Crush (much better than Alien...), Silent Debuggers, Military Madness...?

Alien Crush is classic. I would totally download it if I did not already have it for my TG-16. I would love to see a few PC Engine games that never made it to the states released on the VC.

Alien Crush is a fantastic game! Easily one of the best console pinball games ever. I'm looking forward to downloading it and reliving a little bit of my youth. Bring on Splatterhouse... that was one of my fave TG-16 games!

The only non-TG16 game I got so far is Solomon's Key, and only because the hero's name is the same as mine. I really hope we keep getting these awesome titles. Dungeon Explorer has a permanent place in my heart, alongside Neutopia I and II and Final Lap Twin and lots of old TG16 games. Most underrated console, ever.

Alien Crush is great.. I play this on my express.. Still wish it was in HD.. AC would look great in 720p

well the reason why Turbo fell so fast years ago was because they fooled around and released allot of it's good games too late to make any difference. TTI (Turbo Technologies Inc) took their time releasing the games for the PC engine in the US (Turbo Grapx 16 is the american counterpart of the PC engine). Most really good games never got released here. Now if only Namco will release Splatterhouse series for the Wii, everything will be right again

Never heard of 'em. But, then, Bonk's Adventure was the only memorable game for the TurboGrafx-16 for me... I can't stand pinball games, but this Dungeon Explorer sounds interesting. The more VC games with multiplayer, the better, I say.

Nice! I can put my Turbo away finally! So far, the Turbo games have been some of the best on the VC. I'm amazed that the Turbo sank so quickly 15 years ago, but some of their games are fantastic after all this time. Awesome.

It would be nice for Konami to put up Rondo of Blood. I doubt they'd do it though, and if they do it should be part of some 20th anniversary games collection.

Devil's crush pwns Alien Crush. I thought they were slated to make a third one for the SNES that had a feudal Japan theme, but I don't know that it ever saw the light of day. Anyone know?

princeofgames90 Why the hell should i get intrested in Old school Beacuse believe it or not, there are a lot better old school games then there are new. That's like saying "why should I care about an old black and white movie? I think I'd rather watch a classic B&W movie then Duece Bigelow. Then again, you have a Dragonball Z avatar.. nuff said.
