Activision teasing next Call of Duty?

Main Call of Duty portal update with cryptic fan mosaic potentially related to next entry in military shooter series.

The official Call of Duty website main landing page has been taken over by a cryptic fan mosaic, potentially teasing the next entry in Activision's popular first-person shooter series.

Gamers can add their Twitter or Facebook profile picture and a message to the mosaic, in an effort to presumably reveal the next Call of Duty game. At press time, the mosaic is fairly sparse, though it appears to depict a face of some sort.

Activision is rumored to officially announce 2013's Call of Duty game on Wednesday, May 1. Retailers Tesco and Target have revealed this game to be an Infinity Ward-produced Call of Duty: Ghosts running on a next-generation engine, but Activision has not commented on this.

The fan mosaic on the Call of Duty website does not appear to be an accident, as Activision community manager Dan Amrich is promoting the teaser through his website.

"Something’s up at callofduty.com," he wrote. "You might wanna check it out."

Looks a lot like the mask of Ghost from the MW2 - fairly predictable. But bringing back Ghost should be make for an interesting campaign hopefully, since he is the most wanted CoD character.

I hate to say this but I'll wait for the pirated version instead of wasting my money to those fat guys in IW

It's clearly Ghosts mask from MW 2. No one gives a fuck, everyone at IW can go die in a fire for all I care.

I enjoyed COD Modern Warfare and MW3, I really really did. But those will probably be the only ones I ever buy. I can't justify what feels like just following the online multiplayer community around for another $60-$70.

There's no point teasing it, heck, even the people that like cod aren't surprised at this point. Your annual releases have lost their element of surprise and excitement Activision.

I got MW2 on release. I got MW3 on release. I got BO2 on release. But sorry, I just can't keep going.. One game a year simply is way too much. Even the new Assassin's Creed game can't spark my interest. We have games like GTA V and Rayman Legends coming out, so it really is pretty hard to care about some annual sequel to a series I've played for the last five years or so.

There's nothing "cryptic" or mysterious about a Call of Duty game. Why do they bother?

It's comforting to see so much disinterest here. Activision needs to have a CoD game fail as a bit of a wake up slap. Publishers need to stop playing safe and take risks. Nintendo is about the only publisher that can get away with releasing new games to decades old series because they reinvent those series on each major iteration. It's a well known fact nowadays that, to find any kind of creative music made by hard working musicians you have to look anywhere but the radio. Video games are distinctly trending in that direction and that's sad.

Hate all you dbags want but the truth is, you are just wasting your time because you losers are a negligible minority, won't really affect how COD performs. As long as it is a well made game, wether your puny brain accepts it or not, will still be popular as ever.

If you are smart you will wait for the next Black Ops. It always brings something new to the game with the yearly COD dose.

They should just be brutally honest and rename it as follows:

@001011000101101 There's a solution for you - stop buying COD like games and COD games in general. These type of games usually not worth the price tag they get :)

@Sorrow_Echo Umm if you're smart you would've moved on from this series years ago... dafuq
