Activision Secures Race of Champions License
Driving games based on the Michelin Race of Champions - Rally Masters will appear in 2002.
Activision announced today that it has signed an agreement with International Media Productions that gives Activision the exclusive rights to the Michelin Race of Champions - Rally Masters license, which was previously held by Infogrames. The Race of Champions is held every December in the Canary Islands, where the top drivers compete in various rally car events. Infogrames released Digital Illusions' rally racing game Rally Masters: Michelin Race of Champions last September.
In addition to the general license, Activision now also has the rights to 42 drivers, 21 licensed cars, and five circuits. Activision expects its first Race of Champions game to ship in 2002.
