Activision books Call of Duty and China-related Web domains

Call of Duty publisher grabs names like "blackopschina.com," "bochina.com," and other China-related domains.

Activision recently registered 17 domain names that are related to Call of Duty and China.

Part of Black Ops 2's story will be about a future war between the US and China.

According to a post on Fusible, the domains may be linked with the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops II's storyline that involves a future cold war between the United States and China. Part of the list of domains, specifically "modernwarefarechina.com," could also be a reference to an upcoming free-to-play Call of Duty title for China.

The full list of names bought by the company is as follows (via Internet brand protector MarkMonitor): anheixingdong.com, anheixingdong.net, blackopschina.com, blackopschina.net, blackopsonline.net, bochina.net, callofdutychina.com, callofdutychina.net, heisexingdong.com, heisexingdong.net, jueshengshike.com, jueshengshike.net, modernwarfarechina.com, modernwarfarechina.net, modernwarfareonline.net, xiandaizhanzheng.com, xiandaizhanzheng.net.

The company discussed creating a microtransaction-based Call of Duty title made specifically for China via an investor conference call last year. For more information about the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, check out GameSpot's recent articles.

Dunno if it will sell well in China though, when there's probably an already established series maybe called 'Call of Honor' that is exactly like CoD in every way possible, except it's Chinese instead.

Keep 'em coming, as long it's good. I really wish they'd release more details on the Vita version, though...

Kids don't care who they fight. They might as well have thrown in cavemen and set a CoD game in the stoneage.

So it's no longer Russia as the "Evil bad dudes" but their allies, China? Can't they think of something original?

China is so lucky to be getting one more Call Of Duty game than the rest of us.

@chechak7 Even though China won in C&C: Generals they still banned the game.

@Vaultboy-101 well as long as it's America versus the enemy it'll be either Russia or China ( oh i forgot middle east countries)

@y3ivan Because a modern FPS about American and it's closest ally going to war with each other would make sense  in any way.
