Aces High Announced

Ex-Interactive Magic employees announce their first flight sim outside the Warbirds universe.

One of the independent development houses formed out of the company formerly known as Interactive Magic Online is HiTech Creations Inc., run by Dale "HiTech" Addink (a co-founder of Interactive Creations Inc. (ICI) and the originator of the online flight simulation Warbirds) and Doug "Pyro" Balmos. The rumor was that they were working on a rival online flight simulation, but information was scarce, and no one knew how soon it would be 'til it became available.

The spin-off company officially announced on Friday that it was working on (not really a surprise) an online multiplayer World War II combat flight simulation called Aces High. The game will feature a 3D interface, view system, graphics, and audio system, as well as realistic flight modeling, advanced gunnery, detailed damage, and a host of other nifty things.

This time, however, Addink states that he wants to keep the focus on the game rather than on the corporation or large gaming network behind it.

"I want to do one thing - concentrate only on making the best online flight sim," said Addink.

The game is currently in very closed alpha testing, and a free open beta should be available for all to try out by September.
