The latest installment of Namco's Ace Combat franchise, Ace Combat 5: The Unsung War, has gone gold and is cleared to land in stores October 25. Being released exclusively for the PlayStation 2, it will retail for $49.99.

Also, Namco recently announced an Ace Combat 5 bundle to be released October 25 that will include the game, a Hori flightstick, and a jacket patch adorned with the Ace Combat 5 logo. This package will be slightly more pricey, selling for $129.99.

Ace Combat 5 puts gamers in the cockpit of 50 real-world planes in the year 2010. The title features 30 missions that include air-to-air, air-to-ground, and air-to-surface combat, and an all-new fast-paced arcade mode. A new "Wingman Command" feature allows Top Guns to issue commands to artificial intelligence-controlled wingmen to coordinate tactical attacks.
