Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies DLC has you defend an orca whale in court

Capcom unveils new Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies DLC chapter, alongside costume pack and deduction quizzes.

by

A DLC chapter for the upcoming Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Dual Destinies will feature the lawyer protagonist defending a mustache-toting Orca whale accused of murder.

The new case, spotted on Siliconera, is titled Special Chapter: Turnabout Return, and will bridge the gap between Apollo Justice and the first 3DS entry in the series. It will also be Phoenix's first case after returning to court.

The chapter will also feature the whale's trainer, who dresses like a pirate.

Capcom has not announced a release date or price for the Turnabout Return chapter.

The game will also feature a costume pack, allowing players to outfit Phoenix in his vintage blue outfit, and a three-part deduction quiz that follows on from content already in the game.

Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies has just launched in Japan and will be released in North America and Europe later this year exclusively on Nintendo's eShop.

Dear Capcom, if you want to announce a dlc, DO IT 1 MONTH AFTER THE GAME IS RELEASED INSTEAD OF RIGHT AFTER!

Orca's are not whales they are actually a type of dolphin.  Orca's are also known as Killer Whales because they kill and eat whales.

I love this series very much, but why make this DLC? Objection!

A Japanese game in which an orca is accused of murder...

Does this remind anyone of that South Park episode?

OBJECTION!

This is the biggest load of... You know what, go diaf Capcom. GO DIAF.

Ruining the Ace series that's already a niche down here and you have the GALL to clip out something from the BEGINNING of the game to SELL BACK to fans?

You'd think the one case that's supposed to make us buy into the bullcrap of Apollo Justice and this new Ace game and you want to SELL that to us?

Buck this. I'm done supporting Capcom's crap. I'll just remember the series as something I used to enjoy. eShop is a joke.

ok let me get this straight, this DLC is supposed to bridge the gap and it's Phoenix's first case back on court....
I know it's late now, seeing that it's been already released, but shouldn't they have put that turnabout in the game in the first place?! I mean, it's Phoenix Wright's first case back on the job, that should've been the first case(or second as a flashback type thing) in the game.
That's just my opinion anyways.

It appears the Japs have well and truly eclipsed the French for weirdness in video games (although the 1990s will always belong to the French devs for strangeness, lol).

I love Phoenix Wright games and will probably buy the add-ons too. Probably the only DLC I'll purchase all generation, especially if it's reasonably-priced. LOL!

Defending an Orca. What's next, defending Sigma, or Dr. Wily? Or perhaps defending Albert Wesker?

I can't wait! I miss Phoenix and his entourage very much! Will Maya be returning in this one? At the very least a cameo? I really miss her.

Whale: "Thank you for defending me, Phoenix!"

Phoenix: "You are very whale..."

(Sorry. I couldn't help myself. T-T)

Wait, aren't Orcas also known as Killer Whales?  He's obviously guilty, it's in his name!

Good luck with this one Phoenix!

Bought the game yesterday. So far, so good! Getting great reviews from fans of the series saying the number series has finally returned. Excited to get deeper into the game!

Hard to believe that the japanese would create a game where you're defending a whale. A much more likely scenario would be an endangered whale murder simulator.

Unfortunately it wouldn't sell very well in Japan because it would be, "Too much like normal life to be compelling."

When it comes to this series there's always a reason for the madness. I'll just wait and see....

I read a few years back that in medieval times a goat was put on trial for being in league with the devil, found guilty and executed. If only Apollo Justice was there to save its life.

@david1230 @Axel450 Capcom's just doing whatever they want at this point. I mean seriously, ULTRA Street Fighter IV? How many SFIV games have there been now?

Axel450
Axel450

@david1230 @Axel450 I see. I'll give that a shot once either it releases for consoles or I can get a more powerful PC

david1230
david1230

@Axel450 @david1230 very addicting, and it is about to get alot better cause the dev is almost finished with the standalone version of the game, before remember it was just a mod on the ARMA 2 game. Not a mod per se but kinda of like made using the games engine to make a completely different game from the army simulator that ARMA 2 was. He the guy who made DAY-Z is one extremely talented guy, and his team is talented as well.

david1230
david1230

@Axel450 @david1230 axel true story, but heres a great survival horror game though, the last one left until they sellout, Day Z.

Axel450
Axel450

@david1230 @Axel450 Horror games, Imho, should always be single-player. The Apocalypse is NEVER better with a buddy. Cause then, more people die.

david1230
david1230

@Axel450 @david1230 stopped playing RE the second they said SURIVIAL CO-OP, OH YAY that really worked huh, just like how dead space 3 did that "survival co-op" and it destroyed the entire franchise I mean these asshats don't even understand, if you do Survival horror co-op then, you have to find ways to split the team up and force them on their own paths and have them meet up every once and a while, but force them to go at most of the game alone, and then add your jump and scare tactics from their, i mean my favorite survival horror games are all dead now.

Axel450
Axel450

@david1230 @Axel450 I know, right? Even though I'm looking forward to Lost Planet 3 and Anything that's better than RE6, they need a bit more originality

david1230
david1230

@Axel450 @david1230 dogma is the only "original" game they have made in a very long time, but they fucking micro DLC so much in that game.
