Acclaim announced that results for the second quarter of fiscal '98 (ended Feb. 28) went up 33 percent over the prior year, mainly attributed to the success of its N64 titles NFL Quarterback Club '98 and Turok: Dinosaur Hunter.

Net revenues ended at US$69.3 million, over $52.3 million more than last year (the 33 percent jump), while net revenues for the six-month period climbed 53 percent over the prior year to $161.6 million.

"We see continued opportunity for the balance of fiscal 1998," Gregory Fischbach, cochairman and CEO of Acclaim Entertainment, said in a statement. "Hardware sales are up considerably from the previous year, and we are maintaining our focus on high-quality titles and strong brands supported by targeted marketing efforts."
