A sneak peek at Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire

Your first look at Groudon and Kyogre in glorious 3D.

The Pokemon YouTube channel just released a short teaser showing off the very first gameplay footage from Pokemon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire.

The remakes of the Game Boy Advance originals will release worldwide in November 2014, only on 3DS.

The Pokémon Company describes the games as a "fresh take" on the originals, which debuted more than a decade ago in 2003. "The new titles promise to take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world," the company said.

More information about Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire will be shared in the lead-up to their arrival this November. The most recent entry in the main series was Pokémon X/Y, which has now sold 12.26 million units to date.

They should make a thunder yellow.

It would have all the starter Pokemon in good quality!

The developers are saying that the game is an "exciting story in a brand new world?" What ever happened to truth in advertising?

Pokemon MMO

That's all I'm saying to Nintendo.

The "powered by quake II engine" comment on youtube pretty much sums it up.

still at leas this is a real remake not just a 2d sprite upgrade.

I think everyone's itching for a Pokemon console RPG. The feature I'd like to see in it is actually seeing the pokemon in the world as you run around, and then choosing whether or not to engage them.

There'll come a time where you won't be able to rely on rehash after rehash of your games, Nintendo...

I think I'll wait for Omega Emerald.

I really don't understand why Nintendo isn't bringing Pokemon to a console.. Just imagine, a full HD entry of the main series with a fully explorable overworld like say Dragon Quest 8, on WiiU with the game pad serving as pokedex, fans would go crazy!

ewww.... i was expecting some gameplay. But i'm assuming it'll look like X and Y though.

The dragon is so much cool looking than the fish.

Another game not for Nintendo Wii U.

For me Ruby was my first ever Pokemon game. The nostalgia is huge with this title. I cannot wait for this. I always loved Hoenn, the sense of adventure was greatest with this region due to the focus on nature.

3DS is so darn good, all we need now is a Metroid game to top it off - 3DS sorely needs Samus!

I had logged hundreds of hours filling my pokedex on Sapphire. I would have preferred this on Wii U though. A genuine Pokemon game for Wii U would sell like gangbusters.

You gotta give it to Nintendo, they really know how to milk a cow.....

I've lost track of the series a long time ago .

I remember going and buying Sapphire in the store and it came with the game guide.  One of the few games where the guides were super useful, especially that Pokedex.  My friend bought Ruby so we played THE CRAP out of those games.  And making up my own room was a lot of fun too.  We'd trade items and stuff, MAN those were the days. :)

@jupsto  sweet!!!  Polygonal fight scenes enhance your perception of reality!

@Xenro4  I agree. They should also make it a larger adventure. Like Kanto + Johto and the ability to actually be the Pokemon league champion.

@omar_q They'll just do what the rest are  then, rehash their older IPs or those of other companies under the guise of new IPs, to fool clueless casuals.

@drsw36  They never remake the third version of each gen, so you'll probably be waiting indefinitely.

@drsw36  I hope you have a lot of time on your hands.

"Hey what should be name the Emerald Remake?"

"I don't know what did we name the others?"

"Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire"

"Lets call it Omega Emerald"

"But sir didn't we use Omega in Ruby's title?"

"No one will notice trust me"

"Brilliant"

And why would they bring it to wii u? It is a portable game. Some of you need to cool it with the doom and gloom. Nintendo has some things coming that will bring the wii u sales higher.

@jZangetsu21 You gotta give it to Sony, they really know how to rehash games due to lack of creating new ones.

@Ervaine  I lost it at about Ruby/Sapphire to be honest. I never even played Emerald because I just gave up at that point.

@coralturtles @westsiderz28 i dont know, but i remember just wanting to get to where i was going and not be pesterd with random battles all the time, then i stopped playing pokemon forever.....

bunchanumbers

@Bellum_Sacrum @bunchanumbers  I think a big part of that is Game Freak. They don't have tons of experience with Wii U. Not only that they would need a bigger budget. 3D would be a big deal. I assume people would be hoping for a open world game. Not saying Skyrim detail but a big open world the player would wander. It would take a long time to do and would cost more to do than probably their last 3 pokemon games combined.

@chev93477 @jZangetsu21 seriously?? nintendo is world famous for rehashes, waay worse than sony infact thers only capcom who rehash as much as nintendo that would have been a fair comparison

coralturtles

@westsiderz28 @chev93477 @jZangetsu21  Nintendo rehashes the same franchises but not necessarily the same game.

Mario Galaxy, Mario 3D world, and New Super Mario Brothers U are very different games, not to mention Mario Kart, Mario Golf, Mario Tennis, and Mario Strikers

The Metroid Prime series is nothing like Other M

Zelda games are very similar but they only come out 4 or so years (not to mention the Wii U Zelda is supposed to "challenge the traditions of Zelda")

Dannystaples14
Dannystaples14

@tableofjapan @chev93477 @jZangetsu21  That is what he is saying though right NOW Sony is milking the hell out of Indies because they are struggling to find new games.

Whether that is true or not is one thing but just because they brought out games in the past every year doesn't mean the PS4 will do from here on.

I guess E3 will be a very telling event this year.
