Videogames.com got another look this past week at two of ASC Games' upcoming titles Dead in the Water and Jeff Gordon Racing.

Jeff Gordon Racing was fittingly shown at the Miller Lite 400, a huge NASCAR race that Jeff Gordon participated in, last Sunday. Gordon is more than just a mere name on the box; he serves as the game's codesigner and coproducer. He was on hand prior to the race to answer a few questions and to show off the latest revision of his title. "This video game will be the ultimate combination of my two passions - racing and video gaming," says Gordon. Surprisingly the game isn't your typical race-around-the-oval-track NASCAR game. In fact, the game has a futuristic look and feel; some of the tracks even have jumps and super high-banking turns.

ASC Games also showed its second title, Dead in the Water, which places players in a 3D water-combat racing position that plays like a Vigilante 8 or Twisted Metal 2 on water. The original characters and amazing effects give the game a superslick look. The game not only allows for two-player split-screen play, as in typical vehicular combat games, but also allows players to utilize the PlayStation link cable. Jeff Gordon is due for the PlayStation in the first quarter of 1999. Dead in the Water will be available for the PlayStation this November.
