3DS Zelda becomes A Link Between Worlds

Nintendo rebrands A Link to the Past 2 as A Link Between Worlds.

by

The Upcoming Nintendo 3DS sequel to The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past has been rebranded The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.

The name change was revealed in a new trailer for the game and also through an official company announcement today.

A Link Between Worlds will be predominantly presented from a top-down perspective, while Link will be able to transform into a drawing and move across walls. This mechanic will play a major role in the game, Nintendo has said.

The game launches this year.

I have been waiting for this game for years. Hopefully it is not dumbed down to target kids. This game should be geared toward the 20-35 age group. I would actually buy a 3DS just for this game, that is if I did not already own one.

I hate how much attention Nintendo gives the DS.... I mean it's great in a way but hell I would actually buy this on the WiiU..... I might get it on the DS but it's unlikely I don't like spending 40 bucks to play a game on a mini screen

Wow that deflated my sails quick. The most anticipated game they had possible, a sequel to one of the best Zelda games, and they put it on a handheld, not even a console. Should not expect anything less from Nintendo.

it looks like a remake of ALttP but with wall walking.

I think I would be happier with a pure remake and update, with a few added things, rather than something similar that is hoping to ride on LTTPs coat tails.  Still, I am hopeful for it to be a great game, and will certainly play it someday.

So link can turn into a drawing? Truly epic creativity

As long as I don't have to use the stylus for movement I'm in.

I wonder if they will finally 'link' the stories of all of the Zelda games together?

@b74kd3th Let's hope it's just one of a series of different game mechanics on show. Personally, I have trust in Nintendo game design.
