The 3DO Company announced that it has shipped Army Men: Air Combat for the Nintendo 64. The game will soon be available at all participating retail outlets and online shopping sites. The game stars Captain William Blade, who has to help Sarge defeat General Plastro and his Tan Alliance. The game includes 16 scenarios, diverse environments such as the backyard and playground, and four types of helicopters. In the game's multiplayer mode, up to four players can simultaneously participate in air-to-air and air-to-ground combat.

"Why confine your ambitions to the ground when the conflict is being fought in the heavens?" asked Trip Hawkins, chairman and CEO of The 3DO Company. "Wars must be won on land, sea, and air, and with the power of the Nintendo 64 behind the Green Army, ultimate victory for all parties concerned was never in doubt."

Upcoming games in 3DO's PS and PS2 release lineup include Army Men: Sarge's Heroes 2, World Destruction League: Thunder Tanks, Army Men: Air Attack 2, and Warriors of Might and Magic. Additionally, Army Men: Sarge's Heroes 2 will be released for the Nintendo 64, Legends of Might and Magic and Heroes Chronicles for the PC, and Army Men 2 for the Game Boy Color.
