3DO Completes Transformation

The 3DO Company has appointed a new vice president and chief financial officer. Terrence J. Schmid has been with the company since April 1996. Before joining 3DO he worked for Electronic Arts. 3DO calls this move part of its "final transformation" into a video game software company; recently, it completed an agreement with Samsung Electronics to sell its hardware business to them for $20 million.
