The FIFA Interactive World Cup 2006 is calling for fans of the series from 25 different countries to play in a gaming tournament running from November 13-20. The overall winner will walk away with $20,000 in cash, as well as an all-expenses-paid trip to Zurich on December 18 to attend the FIFA World Player Gala 2006 at the Opera House--where the real-life football stars of the year will be crowned.

There will be 29 Xbox Live winners, including five spaces allocated for the various regions of the UK. The winners will be invited to the FIFA Interactive World Cup Grand Final in Amsterdam on December 9. Last year's winner was Briton Chris Bullard from Ipswich, who defeated Hungarian Gabor Mokos at The Brewery in London.

To compete, gamers should access Xbox Live from their Xbox 360, insert the FIFA 07 game, and sign on to play ranked games in the quickmatch mode. There are various other conditions of play to be met, which are detailed on the official Xbox Live Tournament Web site.
