Nintendo will have 1080 Avalanche on display at this year's E3. The game will let you compete in races on various snow and slalom courses as returning characters Akari Hayami or Ricky Winterborn; or as one of the game's new characters.

1080 Avalanche's various courses will feature varied and realistic environmental conditions, such as icy patches and powder, though some of the courses may require you to also avoid other skiers and alpine animals. In addition, different courses in the game will also feature various hazards, such as collapsing bridges, cave-ins, and, of course, avalanches.

Much of the challenge in mastering 1080 Avalanche will involve trying to maintain your balance on your board as you speed down a slope. The game will feature an onscreen balancing system that will help you keep your character upright, but in order to rack up serious points, you'll want to try pulling off some of 1080 Avalanche's over-the-top tricks, which will let you string together combinations of flips, nose- and tail-grabs, spinning maneuvers, and rail grinds. Though you'll be able to compete against computer-controlled opponents in the single-player mode, the game will also support multiplayer play for up to four players. 1080 Avalanche will be released this September.
