In advance of the game hitting store shelves, EA has released the first patch for Battlefield 1942.

EA has released the first patch for Battlefield 1942, which was previously scheduled to arrive in stores today but is 2879959now scheduled for retail release on Friday. The patch for the retail version makes all the fixes that were included in the recent 1.1 patch for the Battlefield 1942 multiplayer demo. There is also a patch for the game's dedicated server application. GameSpot Complete members can grab the updates from the links below.

To fix problems that may affect those running Battlefield 1942 on a Radeon 9700 graphics card, ATI has released a patch for the Radeon 9700 Direct3D driver. The patch, available on ATI's tech support site, also fixes problems with Mafia and The Thing.
