total disagree with this review, think this is a good game. granted it's not as good as the other two, but in its own right still a good game. several good sequence and chapters. good graphics ect.

There is a soda can silencer. Did you even finish the game?

To think about all the people that would probably love this game, but never try it because Kevin's unthorough coverage of WHAT makes this game awesome. Too much focus was put on what he wanted out of it, not what it actually has.

I'm speaking specifically about the co-op play with a friend. It's the game's core feature, and best feature.

@RAD_RADIO Hey there, me n my bud have been playing the first Ao2 and we're really enjoying it, also we'll probably get this one. Could you let me know how the two games compare in the CO-OP gameplay?

Another confusing thing is that this game is #1 on their home page top games list. So there must be a second in-house review for the top games department or mixed opinions amongst the staff.

I really liked the first Army of Two for the co-op feature just like I liked Kane & Lynch. Why are both xbox and ps3 rated 5.0 but the user and metacritic scores are different by a large margin? I have always bought the xbox version but the GS score seems kind of suspect! Might go the other way on this one and get the ps3 copy. Anyone happen to play both?

really? they took out the back-to-back shooting? that sucks!!

RAD_RADIO

@j_kizi in my opinion, the back-to-back shooting sequences were kind of pointless. They were neat at first, but they eventually just became basically a useless cutscene.

More of the same shoot and cover mechanics, lack of originality...

Who wanted a third Army of Two game? A by "spark the series has shown" Kevin I'm assuming you meant the Wu-Tang clan reference.

Don't agree at all it is at least a 8.5

DrEw1190
DrEw1190

@seanbrandowen Same. I've played through all three with my buddy and we've been having a blast. They're not perfect games by any means, but simply the fact that there is SPLIT-SCREEN coop makes it worth getting. (Far too few games have this option... I have real friends you know!!) Oh, and weapon customization, totally awesome.

@DrEw1190 @seanbrandowen  Plus you don't have to pay extra for Co-Op with a Season Pass (Dead Space 3, Saints Row The Third). I've just had this come through my letterbox from LoveFilm and seeing as i loved the 1st too, i'm really looking forward to this

Army of Two TDC is awesome. The shootout in the church is some of the most fun I've had in a game in a long long time. If you are interested in this game at all don't listen to the haters. Either pick it up now or wait until its cheaper and you won't regret it if you are a real shooter fan. It just makes me sad that EA shut down the Visceral Canada so there won't be any more games like this. AoT: TDC is too focused and probably didn't meet their corporate criteria for mass market appeal. (No shoe-horned PvP deathmatch, no romance, no built in microtransactions) A dozen years from now Army of Two TDC will be remembered by the edgy underground crowd as one of the best shooters of this gen. Mark my words.

@TruthSerum808  You are 100% accurate I had just as much fun with it and played it before I saw the review and was very surprised to see such a low score I would give it at least a 8.5

seems like a fair score to give

DrEw1190

@The_Last_Ride But it's not. My friend and I were looking everywhere for a split screen coop game to hold us over for this and we couldn't find one. Coop play is awesome, the tag teams are brilliant, on the hardest difficulty it was quite tough, and destroying entire facilities with overkill is nuts. IMO every game with a functioning split screen coop should be praised.

Wait and they gave Gears of War 1 a 9 out of 10 and same for the second game right ?

wizaard88

@DarckArchon I played GoW 1 to 3 and also played the Devil's Cartel demo and though the games look similar (same mechanics and so on), they're really not. I've had exactly the same feeling like Kevin VanOrd - Devil's Cartel is only a consumer product, nothing else - totally forgettable game with no "spirit", no idea, no added value whatsoever.

im-a-roustabout
im-a-roustabout

@wizaard88 @DarckArchon What do you mean it's only a consumer product? Do you even know what that means? Everything we buy from a store is a consumer product. He said it was a forgettable consumer product.

wizaard88
wizaard88 like.author.displayName 1 Like

@im-a-roustabout Trust me, I know what it means. I wrote it maybe a little simpler but I thought I made my point in the last one or two sentences.

What I meant: not every consumer product is only a consumer product. I'm looking for something a little beyond that, not just straightforward, mindless, simple fun.

I'm not saying Devil's Cartel is not fun, it's just dumb fun. GoW is - no matter what - on a higher lever.

Are people really surprised? I thought it looked shit the first trailer I watched. A couple of testosterone filled army types with guns and massive god complexes.

I am sick of games that feel compelled to show point totals for each and every little thing you accomplish.  Wow, you killed another enemy, here is ten points so your useless score goes up so you can buy... something I don't know.

Wow. I played this game and really enjoyed it.  There is some awesome shooting going on here and the environments are pretty amazing. I was surprised to see it got such a low score.  This is my first army of two experience so maybe there us something im missing but i had alot of fun.

Sad to watch this, but again, it really didn't look spectacular whatsoever. I loved playing army of two the 40th day with my little brother, because it had its "bromoments" and awesome weapon customization. This game quite litterally has.... well.... nothing
