Could you better describe what you are asking about? Are you simply asking how they got the emblems that they wear? Or are you asking about the paint schemes for their entire ACs?
-
I'm not sure if this is what you are referring to but some parts like arms, cores and legs have certain plates sticking out in various places. They have most likely used decals or emblems on them to make it look like a special emblem plate. If you're still not sure you can always send them a message asking them how they got it.

I believe what he is asking about is in the main team lobby. The background of the team members number is a different color. In my unit we have one with a blue background. He did not preorder or do anything exceptional. He is a c rank merc and has no idea why he is different.

Ahh, thank you, DecReg, you cleared up my confusion. Here's the deal with those.
The plates indicate what the player is doing as well as if they are having network issues. A red plate means that person's out on a mission of some kind. A flashing red plate means they're forming a unit to go on a mission. Blue means that person has a NAT type that may make connecting to other players more difficult. And purple is actually just the red and blue at the same time; that person has NAT problems and is currently playing a mission. -
Well thanks sunblast, I was about to ask that question as well.
Although I just saw a new one. Yellow. Any ideas? -
I believe yellow is a slow connection.
