Superb graphics & gameplay, one of the most under-rated RTS titles out there. A bargain to keep you busy for hours.

User Rating: 9 | Armies of Exigo PC
I scoured GameSpot reviews for older RTSs that I hadn't played, and Armies of Exigo was one that came up with a rather mediocre "6.7" score. I took my chances, picked up a copy from eBay for $5, and I'm glad I did.

This game is a hidden gem, and the poor score on GameSpot is a gross misrepresentation in my opinion. If you loved the gameplay of Command & Conquer, StarCraft, and other classics, you will absolutely love this game. It builds on the usual resource-gathering, unit-and-base building ethos that RTSs are so well-known for, but throws in a several interesting twists to keep things fresh. The graphics are well advanced for a game this old, and the game-play is very smooth with an immersing storyline. I was surprised at the lifespan as well; I've started and finished this game 3 times in the past 2 years, and it's just as fun every time: again, the plot is worth seeing it through to the end. I'm still baffled why I had never heard of this game before. It may not be ground-breaking, but the bottom-line is that it is hours of entertainment that will keep you busy for hours.
