Armed and Dangerous is an utterly hilarious third person shooter. Planet Moon Studios has captured my attention to play this game twice, and while it doesn’t have a lot of replay value (past the second or third time) the game entertains so well, that it seems worth it every now and then.

Armed and Dangerous’ story starts with a blind hermit named Rexus, who has apparently hidden or locked the power of the Book of Rule. The book has a few different powers or similarities to other books that it ultimately gets confused with. The king needs the book for him to be a very powerful ruler, but cannot use it since the power has been locked away.

While not revolutionary the game packs a lot of funny moments during cut-scenes and sometimes even during game play itself. My only issue with these cut-scenes is that they were sometimes heavily pixilated on my television. The cut scenes (mostly) have absolutely nothing to do with the game, and are just plugged in there to be funny.

Graphics in Armed and Dangerous are not the best, however they are HDTV 480p compatible so they do look nice and crisp. There are a few hiccups every now and then in some areas like textures being very bland and it feels like they need to “pop” but never do. It is basically average graphics, but that’s not why you are playing, you are most likely playing due to the humor in the game.

The sounds in game and voice acting are very well done, although the fake British accents get old fairly quickly. Although the characters chatting amongst themselves is very funny at times, especially when you have to do a rescue mission and the hostage talks to you after you rescue him, often being sarcastic and unthankful.

While the games length exceeds 6 hours from start to finish there will be times you need to re-do a mission, or get stuck on a turret mini-game between missions. Extending the length of the game to 7-8 hours tops. Just enough for a weekend rental, not enough to purchase in my opinion.
