so much potential....but just got sacked by the Jack linebacker.

User Rating: 3.5 | Arena Football: Road to Glory PS2
Some of you may think that the rating of a 3.5/10 would be harsh for this game, but in reality i'm really rating this game a 7.....out of 20.

Gameplay:

Okay, let's start this review by talking bout the gameplay of Arena Football: road to Glory. It stays true to it's arena football roots by incorperating each nessecary position but be catious, unless you are a true Arena Football fan and know the rules (which differ greatly from the NFL), then you'll find yourself getting penalized every other play for some foul you never heard of. While it may be fun to knock players over the wall when they're just about to make a great reception, remember, it gets repetitive.

Gameplay (Controls):

Okay, now if you've been playing the Madden NFL series, it's going to take some time to get used to the new/unique controls potrayed by Road to Glory. For example, recievers may have different buttons to throw to them as in R1 compared to O in madden. So getting used to these controls will have to get some getting-used to, which may become tedious at times when you keep getting penalized.

Gameplay (Sound):

Now time to talk bout sounds..."what's that? you mustve left your T.V. on mute while playing the game?" No, thats just cause there's no commentary in the game. Yup, that's right, i was actually looking forward to the in-your-face hardcore commentary by some random guy i've never heard of. You would think they would at least play some music from their failing soundtrack while you're playing, but no, which tends to make the gameplay even more boring.

Gameplay (Graphics):

When i first watched a commerical for this game, i thought: "wow, look at these cut-edge sick graphics, gotta get this game." When I actually played the game, i thought: "wow, look at these jagged, not-at-all-clean pixels, why did I think this game would be awesome?" Okay, okay, i may have been a little harsh, while the graphics arent all terrible, actually quite decent compared to the other qualities of the game, just don't judge a game by it's commercial.

Game Modes:

"wow, a new title: Road to Glory, that must be some super-special awesome new game mode in this game!" nahhh, turns out the creators of this game didnt feel like naming it Arena Football 2007 or something like that. As far as game modes are concerned, theres a season mode, which I haven't played fully yet so I dont get the full meaning of it yet, pretty sure it's a not a full-force Franchise mode though. Theres also a field-goal kicking mini-game, whats more fun than kicking a field goal through a narrow post with no commentary?

Other Things you need to know bout this game:

1) Well, for starters, the main menu fails. You enter the game, there's this flashy 3-D like flashy menu in front of your face. Automatically, you know you just wasted your money.

2) While it may look flashy and in-your-face type action in the commercials, this game isn't all it's cracked up to be, remember not to judge a video game by it's commercials.

3) If you are looking to purchase this game, dont. Rent it first and see if it's what your looking for, but by the time your rental period is over though, you'll probably would have been done with the game and seen what you came out to see.

The Good: 1) graphics arent terrible

The Bad: 1) no commentary makes gameplay dull, 2) soundtrack, 3) flashy main menu, 3) controls are unusual to the player, 4) lack of game modes, 5) and everything else about the game.

Final Ratings:

Gameplay: 4/10

Graphics: 5/10

Sound; 2/10

Controls: 3/10

Fun Factor: 3.5/10

Final Score: 17.5/50 = 3.5/10 ( Bad )
