GameSpot's Kurtis Seid gets a look at Arcania: Gothic 4 at the E3 2010 showfloor.
Yet another cheaply made Elder Scrolls rip off :/. PASS
LastRenshai:i like your Tukaram icon! :) i big fan of severance blade of darkness!
crap game its not worth the money bad optimization no learning from the npc like the previous gothic's few quests easy gameplay even o hard few dialogues and like blizzard says "and much much more"
Good graphics BUT with many bugs AND the character movement is like a robot on ice. Too bad.
The demo sure did not impress me at all. The graphics are nice and the game still has the gothic feeling but besides that there just isn't anything that really got to me. It has the same kind of quests, same kind of enemies, nothing really new. Voice acting is not great but i could live with that. If reviews give this game 8+ i still might buy the game otherwise i would choose Two Worlds 2. Obviously i will also buy Fallout NV.
Main character is going to be snarky? That sold it for me right there. Am I right guys? Guys?
oblivion did take a bit of skill... moving around the creatures and timing your attacks could drastically improve your hits
"just played the demo. not impressed at all. voice acting is weak, lip syncing also weak, combat slow and boring, graphics suck, invisible walls etc etc." Dan7aylor hit the nail on the head. I stopped playing demo after guy stopped me on bridge trying to get me to do some lame task
@ Dan7aylor The graphics on the pc were actually pretty good. The voice acting did indeed suck. (The witches voice can probably make your ears bleed.) As for the combat being "slow and boring" it's the beginning of the game and it wasn't that bad. (it's better than oblivions just swing at everthing till it dies action...Oblivion is still a good game though :P )
not much of a skill tree'
the demo is out?
just played the demo. not impressed at all. voice acting is weak, lip syncing also weak, combat slow and boring, graphics suck, invisible walls etc etc.
it looks amazing.nice job.i can't wait 13th more days :)))
Just finish the demo ... love the fighting system .... Its a BUY for me ; ) PEASE
ha, that interviewer was such a mess. poor guy.
are hot pockets good ?
Why are people talking about either this or games like Fable 3, Two Worlds, Witcher etc.? Why not buy all of them? It's not like we are spoiled with RPG games for the PC
why they included a minimap? or points when you hit them...
give him a break
wow that interviewer sucked ass.
Loved Gothic and Gothic II, suffered through Gothic III. Hopefully the version IV will be back on track and improve on the originals. Especially the item part needs to be improved, something inspired by the Diablo approach would make it much more exiting to explore the world and picklock those chests. Also hope the AI will be improved but I doubt it will be the case.
Wow is it just me or does the guy talking about his game know nothing about selling the product he's presenting to his viewer demographic audience? Open world rpg blah blah blah... thats all I got out of that interview... Pfff there was some info in there about the game mostly features but for a game thats suppose to be a role playing genre video game he really didn't go to much into what ur role your character has in the game? Is the plot that bad or is he just that poorly informed...
Looks nice, but the performance looks really bad (and i'm sure they are running this on a top-of-the-line demo PC). The fps looks to be about 10-15fps. Hopefully the game gets more optimized before release.
It's going to be a tough choice between this and Two Worlds 2. But I think I'm leaning towards the online play of Two Worlds 2. That way I can have a great RPG and wait for this to go down in price a little.
meh, looks like gothic three had a baby with two worlds...as much as i love gothic, ill pass on this one
looks like another RPG that could be good but they screw it up with the console UI. It was pain in the ass to find something in your inventory in Oblivion. RPG + console = FAIL
@DrunkPrince Well the other guard said "Aha a rookie", so i doubt that you are the king of that castle.
this game will have to wait for me with Fable3, MOH, The force unleashed and probably Max Payne3 all coming out around the same time.

One thing I always disliked about the Gothic series was the combat system. Felt really clunky to me. Looks like this one will one will have decent combat.
So, is it a good thing that the PS3 version is coming out 7 months after the others or not?
The interviewer... feel sorry for him.
Just one question, can we use shield in this game or it's just for fun?!!
While it was raining it was quite laggy l think...
that should have read 'press ESCAPE' Pain In The @aa
Go get 14 chickens LOL...how about eliminating all those PITA 'quests' altogether and actually provide more meaningful content instead. Too much to ask? Now, press 50 times then go look around the corner for your no-prize
looks good, but im gonna have to wait for the review.
It looks like Two Worlds.....
really looking forward to this game, was a huge gothic fan until forsaken gods ruined everything. But I hope they have learned from their mistakes
Not bad at all.
Oblivion sucks, the only good thing that it has is it's the myriad of mods made by the community.
I hope you can't get owned by just anything like in the last Gothic. Looks a lot better but don't think this game would be as good as Oblivion though.
guys its my idea or you getting a castle or a fort or something? did you see the gaurd how they respond? master, respect etc... hmm.. getting interesting and interesting!!!
looks amazing : O
Hopefully it brings Gothic into the modern gaming era without losing that distinct feel of the trilogy. Lets also hope it has less glitches than 3 did, that was a mess.
Looks like it will be this or Two Worlds 2... hm
Check out the fireball spell from the high ground there. Very nice. Yeah, this is looking far better than the likes of Risen to me. I'll be getting this day one.
This is a definite buy for me. I just really really hope it doesn't get pushed back.
nice, this is a good one but im looking more to witcher 2
