Arcania: Gothic 4 User Review

The gothic series has long been one of my favorite rpg series. Its got great gameplay, huge gameworld's and lots of missions to do.
Gothic 1, Gothic2 and Gothic 3 I enjoyed so much, sure Gothic3 was released with tons of bugs but years later is a blast to play (I had more fun with Gothic 3 then I did Oblivion).
Gothic 4 fails on so many levels, not just at beign a true Gothic game but beign a good game on its own. Even if it had another name it would still be horrible. Terrible voice acting, horrid gameplay and just not fun to play at all. The graphics look nice in a few spots and the music is not bad, that is were the good thigns end for this horrific game though.
I dont know what the dev's were thinking when they made this game but it is complete trash, DONT BUY IT.
I could go on and on for hours about how bad this game is but I will spare you the lengthy review and just say "GO BUY GOTHIC 1,2 and 3, along with Risen instead of this crap". Risen was made by the same makers of Gothic1-3 and is the REAL Gothic4 imo.
A failure of an rpg and an even bigger failure of a Gothic game, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS GAME.

The Gothic formula has been oversimplified to appeal to the masses, and failed miserably.

I believe they should change game's name because it has little to do with gothic series.

Play the demo first...play it 5 times. That's Gothic 4 summed up.
