Arcania: Gothic 4 User Review

- The Bottom Line:
- "Surprisingly good"
I have read a lot of reviews about this game before actually playing it.
Lucky for me: I don't listen to others and prefer trying things by myself.
Arcania Gothic 4 turned up to be a really good experience for me.
I could'nt care less whether it keeps the "true" spirit of it's predecessor,
what I am looking in games is plain fun and atmosphere and this game has that.
The graphics is quite good and the landscape is good too.
At start it looks as this game is very easy, so what I did (Thanks to other players):
I started the game at a more harder level, and that gave me a enough satisfaction.
The first chapter does not really give the player any freedom of exploration.
But starting from the second chapter, the game gives better exploration
and it is more difficult than before.
The quests so far are satisfying enough, speech is good too.
There are a lot of quests in the game and a lot of creature to hunt & fight.
So far the all experience is better than I expected and I like it,
and I really expect to keep on enjoying the rest of the game.
I can tell you that from my point of view:
this game is good enough if not superior to it's predecessor.
I like the: atmosphere, quests, NPCs, caves, goblins etc.
My last advice to you players is this:
Don't listen to others, try it by your selves,
and try not to compare games to their predecessors.
For me: every game stand for it's self.
Enjoy.

Can be a fun game. All it takes is a light approach and not having an expectation that it is actually a Gothic game.

To all haters:Quit your yapping! The maximum score this game could get would be 8.5 but it did not make it there.

An average action RPG which could have been way better.

This is a movie I made showing off a town and a walk through some of the wilderness. I usually get around 30 or 40 fps with my new 8600 GT.Posted Sep 29, 2007
