Maybe it's not fair to review a game before you've completed it, but I really don't see this game getting any better. It is pretty hum-drum gameplay, as I only mix up my attacks out of sheer boredom as opposed to out of necessity. I haven't even come close to death yet.
On the bright side there are a lot of chests around the game world to open. Many have lots of loot and cool weapons, but really, that's all the positives I can think of.
The graphics are buggy, and quite often sport a 'washed out' look. Specially before, during and after a rain storm. Four hours in, and I can't even count how many times I've run into someone who looks exactly like my potential father in law. I'm sure you could count the character models with one hand.
However, my wife and I were really looking forward to this game, so we will press onwards, and see if there is any light at the end of the tunnel. In the meantime, we are still having a relatively good time looting with impunity and chuckling at some of the dialogue and voice acting...
Update:
Ok, so my wife and I are about 11 hours in and still enjoying it. There is tonnes of loot, and no weight restrictions, so building up a large amount of wealth is easy. Crafting potions is relative fun, leveling up has its rewards, and wandering into the darkest reaches of forests and caves usually comes with it's rewards.
Orcs and goblins are becoming increasingly difficult and I wish my magic was stronger, but I suppose with a bit of power leveling I can get it to where I want it.
This game has it's problems, but it is becoming pretty darn fun. I up my original score of 5.5 to 6.5.

A throwback RPG that, sadly, is also a step back.
