Its Gothic but not Gothic
I won't go into much details since its a couple of years old now, but lets just say shame on JoWooD on trying to sell this off as a Gothic title even though they didn't classify it as Gothic 4, just so fans would buy it.
And whats worse is Spellbound who developed the game couldn't get the voice actors of the original titles to come and do the voice acting in this title.
Diego sounding like a Spaniard is weird to say the least, yes he has a Spanish name but that is all that is Spanish about him, he spoke like a normal guy. And don't get me started on Lester and the other classic people of the Gothic series.
And another reason this isn't Gothic is the linear path that is set for you, no choices on where to go, who to side with or what sort of mayhem to cause... things that made the series great.
Music is good I suppose. But that is about it. Sure they released an expansion but even then it was the same old go this way.
And then the Windows 7 bugs for some Nvidia and ATI cards where every texture in the game goes black after escaping the starter area kinda makes it buggy as hell also. And did Spellbound release a patch for that? Nope
Buy this at your own peril. It gets a 4 for the music and some nice GFX.
