If you're looking for some great storytelling and some pretty long drawn out battles, this is the RPG for you.

Starting out, you play a role of a young town hero. Later on, you're charged with saving the world from a great evil. Sound familiar? Good!

Not to say that this game is exactly like a lot of other RPG's out there. There are many redeeming qualities where this game stands out, and to an extent, above other RPG's of it's ilk.

The battle system a bit if a mix of tactical and traditional turn based, I guess you can consider it a tactics game without the grid. Almost makes it feel a bit more free roaming. Though, it also makes battles a bit long and drawn out. Thankfully, you won't have to go through many battles in the game. Unlike games where you have to suffer through literally hundreds of random battles, you'll probably only run through about 80-maybe 90 or so regular battles through a normal run through.

Though the story is pretty usual RPG fare, it is definitely engaging and interesting. There are many twists and turns throughout the storyline which keeps it interesting. And a lot of the characters have a decent amount of personality and depth.

Graphically it's pretty average, I'd pin it as slightly better looking than Legaia 2: Duel Saga. and that game didn't look too shabby either. Some of the scenes are very very well done, while others look pretty boring and repetitive. Don't expect too many flashy effects, they're pretty few and far between.

You're going to thank your lucky stars there's an option for turning the voices off. There are only about 3 or 4 lines the characters say when they attack, or are attacked by opponents. After an hour or so those voices will start to wear thin on your patience. As for the songs; they're are pretty forgettable, but they aren't bad either. Pretty good sound overall, and unbalanced voice acting.

If you give it some patience this game will come through in the end for an entertaining experience. In the end, If you're looking for some great storytelling and some pretty long drawn out battles, this is the RPG for you.
