Check out this demo of Arc Rise Fantasia from the Ignition Entertainment booth on the E3 2010 show floor!
Lol for a second it sounded like Dane Cook.
I keep hoping the Wii will deliver in the RPG department. However after this seeing this video I may have to lower my expectations somewhat. 60 hours of gameplay you say? Reckon that would equate to 25 hours of chicken and squirrel skull crushing in the early part of the game with my big sword - hmmm?
The cards used to tell whose turn it is reminds me of Mana Khemia.
looks sucky
I can't wait til Tuesday, got it reserved.
LAG
They're still making games like this?
i cant wait to get this game1 i've been waiting for an jrpg to get on da wii!
this looks pretty cool i love the artwork.
THey changed his name?!?!?!? WHAT THE ****?!?!?It used to be some weird hialriously jrpg name grrrrr curse localization.
WOOHOOO awesoome to hear more about this. I remember reading about this in a friends nintendo power and it looked awesome cant wait till it comes out.
hey, why they gotta be beatin' on those cute chubby chickens? lol, jk. this looks like alot of fun. i've been in the mood for a good rpg lately.
well..I like the design of the characters , I almost thought this was a dungeon scroller game but its basic turn phase action ..the artwork reminds me of persona a bit though ..oh well can't complain with those graphics ..worth the wait.!
The graphics look a little smoother than the PS2's; the character models and facial expressions appear to be a step up and the pixels are not as obvious. This obviously does not compare to the PS3 or XBox360, but it's a valiant effort from the Wii. I wish that the presentation would have told us more.
Lol @ the guy presenting the game. Other than that, this looks really good. Definitely going to get it when it releases. I don't mind the graphics, and the character/enemy models aren't that bad. Everything else is passable on a visual scale.
@Ramiro00 A lot of us still play those "Average PS2 JRPGs" because, quite frankly, this current console generation has been very light in quality JRPGs. Besides Vesperia and Star Ocean 4 there haven't been any truly top-shelf Triple AAA quality titles in the genre. I'll take what I can get, and so will other fans of the genre.
wow, i couldn't even watch the whole damn thing, the guy talking sounds like an IDIOT! bull$hit presentation..

This game looks great. I've been wanting a nice classic RPG experience on a console for a while now, nothing quirky or streamlined to the point of requiring no thought at all. That it's going to be on the Wii makes it even better. Sure, it looks like it could pass for a PS2 game, but since the PS2 has the largest and most varied library of quality RPGs ever, that's hardly a bad thing. Hopefully this game will sell very well and inspire future developers to put even more effort into RPGs on Wii. The quality of a game's graphics isn't a deciding factor of the game's overall value anymore. It's high time you so-called hardcores accepted that.
Hopefully when we get to try this sucker out it turns out to be fun. Sure the visuals are nothing fancy but to be honest, I like that. When we think about all of the greatest rpg's of the past we don't remember them for their visuals, we remember them for some cool characters, kick ass moves, and comfortable dungeons and upgrading. Remember Final Fantasy 13? That game has amazing visuals but it doesn't compare to FF3 or Skies of Arcadia or the Tales series. Point here is, visuals are the last of a video games concern.

I like turn based RPGs and I was initially considering buying this game. However, after watching this trailer I believe my money could be better used elsewhere.
an Average PS2 title. This can t be a Next gen RPG
I've been on the team of "it's not all about graphics, gameplay is king" for a long time. However, in some genres it really helps to have awesome graphics, and JRPG's are one of those genres. Give me awesome movies with sweet graphics to help move the story along and really engage me. This looks like it's not going to deliver that in the least. Not all is lost though, we know nothing about the story, and really nothing about the gameplay since this interview was worthless. Hopefully this will turn out to be as fun as we hope it will be.
Stop promoting and go back sellin cr4ck " Each sista....each weapon comes with theese gems that are inside the..inside the....the.....uuuh...the weapon"
I was thinking before he said it.. Is this for the DS or PSP?.. No the Wii (shake of the head).
It sounds and looks very bad =/
70 hours with all side stuff? off the top of my head, FFXII I managed to clock in a 160 hours+ and that was a PS2 game. This game does nothing special based on this video alone and the guy promoting it sucks at promoting it.
@ Ashietaka: I completely agree with you. That was a horrible floor demo. I have no idea what this game is about or what i'm trying to do in it. However since they say it's meant to provide 50+ hours of gameplay it may be worth watching.
wow, this was terrible. the guy did not know how to promote the game at ALL. He should be excited for this game letting us know great details of the game, he did not sell this game at all. After listening to him I still don't know what's exciting about the game, he had no idea how to explain anything, geez, can I like take his job, almost anyone could do better then this
that laugh at 1:14...will haunt my dreams forever.
@ Perd1t1on so jst because I prove you wrong you think I am upset???
looks borin and unimaginative. looks like there is no flow
@magusat999 I have nothing against rpgs or level grinding. It's the methods. Providing options where the winning condition is based on a random number generator is what is called fake difficulty. If they put in a system similar to paper mario where everything was still based on reaction time, then it would be worth the time, but as it stands, they're just children's books filled with scrambled random fights with random outcomes. That's not a game in my opinion, but a way to waste time.
@jayd02 lolisters, my my, feisty aren't we, jayd02? Did I offend your tastes? Are you going to cry? Go press a or something.
@Perd1t1on I like level grinding (too) - every game doesn't have to be action-based to be good. I miss games with overhead world maps and random fights - which is actually more challenging because you fight a whole lot more than these current games, and the area doesn't have to "respawn" in order for you to get more action. It was the tears of the casual gamer that changed RPGs - "Its too tedious... too many random fights... waa, waa, waaa!" Awww shut-up and get your wet blanket offa me! You can't even play a game all the way through- stop trying to redefine them! I don't hear strategy gamers clamoring for non-turned based play. Why do people want all games to be one way - THATS what I call boring. Might as well just buy one game and play it all the time.
@ Perd1t1on its called people have different tastes and get entertain in different ways you idiot why do you have a stupid pic??? I jst asked you the same question
looks like tales meets final fantasy...boring. why do people like games that require no skills but level grinding based on random numbers
the company picked a horrible spokesperson for their product. the interviewer had to practically DRAAAG the information from him.
Hope it doesn't turn out to be a short story. I like the rpgs with the long stories in them.
lol they said the end of july :P gl with that considering even the website keeps changing the date. i'm kinda mad they didn't turn up the characters voices so we could hear more of the dub. i guess going by what we have the dub really is as hideous as they say. i also hate the map with the stupid compass. i pray this isn't as easy to get lost in like tales of legendia. battle system needs to be focused on more since its the best part of the game
I agree, terrible presentational skills.
The laugh at 1:14 is just too much... really. Other than that the dude seems not very interested in the game, like he doesnt want to talk about it at all. But I am looking forward to this very much now, cause 50 hours mainstory (I kinda doubt that) would be awesome.
