Nintendo really tried to surprise people with the 3DS. Augmented Reality, a concept that has been explored very little, is now being utilized by Nintendo in 3 different games at launch: Nintendogs + Cats, Face Raiders, and AR Games. Today's review is of the third mentioned game.

Gameplay: The game is made of 6 different activities that you can do at first. They are: Drawing, Shooting, AR Shot (a mix of billiards and golf), Taking pictures of Miis, Taking pictures of your favorite characters, and Fishing. I'll briefly explain each.
Drawing is simply that, and you can add certain effects to your drawings and make them look like they're in the real world. It's not my kind of stuff, and it's not really elaborate, but some nice drawings can be done thanks to the stylus.
Next is shooting, which is just shooting at targets with arrows, with a dragon as the final boss. Sometimes, targets can be hidden, so you have to move around to find them. It's pretty short, but fun.
Then we have AR shot, which as I mentioned, is a mix of billiard and golf, where you use a stick to hit balls and try to make the go into holes. The terrain changes too, making it more difficult. It also has a dragon as a boss, and you have to shoot bombs at him. You move to change the angle you're shooting from, and shoot with A.
Both of the pictures ones were unimpressive to me, but they're nice because you can take a picture of a mii/videogame character next to the real person, with 3d effects, and you can change the posses and move the mii/character around.
Last but not least is the fishing game, which is the best one. The actual game you play at first is kind of boring (with another dragon as a boss), but once you unlock free fishing, it gets awesome. The controls are realistic, you move the rod by moving the 3ds, and when you catch a fish, you have to move it up fast, to get the fish. It's pretty simple, relaxing, and fun.
Once you beat AR Shot, Fishing, and Shooting, you get the shop, in which you can buy another version of those 3 games (including free fishing) and some apps like a clock and an aquarium to view the fish you've captured.Overall, really innovative and satisfying, even when the game only lasts about 3 hours.

Presentation: The presentation in the game is pretty good. Some graphics effects, like the water effect, or the terrain effect, are realistic, and make it look like the place in whcih you're playing really has lava/water/mountains.
The sound is nice. In the fishing game, it's specially relaxing, making you feel like you're at sea.
The 3D effects are all well done. In boss battles, the dragon looks amazing, and it shoots fire at you. In the aquarium, it's also ncie to see the fish poping out of the screen. Other apps like drawing and the pictures apps have nice effects too.
10/10

Story: No story in here folks. Just a mini game collection :)

Replay Value: You can beat your high scores in different games. You can also take some nices pictures in gameplay, and overall, the game just has a lot to keep you coming back.
9/10

Fun: This game was really fun for me, especially the fishing game, which is one of the best and most relaxing games I've played on the console. Besides, this game being free is always a pro.

Overall: This pack of pre loaded 3ds games is awesome. My only complain'd be that the character cards aren't used for actual "games" but that's really a minor issue. This games are good for show off and provide a good amount of fun, so try them out when you get the chance.
